Educational Requirements:
∎ Undergraduate degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), preferably Civil/ Environmental Engineering/ Science degree (CGPA 3.00 and above) from any recognised and reputed University of Bangladesh or abroad.
Job Context:
∎ WaterAid is looking for deserving, dynamic, passionate and self-driven applicants for the role of `Young Professional` for its country programme office in Bangladesh. The incumbent requires fresh graduate or nominal experience and is willing to gain some experiences to build up career in the development field with focus to the programme implementation.
∎ Young Professional (YP) does not mean a `staff` employed by WaterAid Bangladesh, but it is a special programme through which WaterAid provides adequate support and opportunity to the Bangladeshi young and talented aspirants having good academic background. Therefore, YPs can groom themselves up in the organisational environment, obtain relevant experience, and prepare themselves to contribute professionally to any organisational set-up.
∎ Reportable to : Technical Advisor - WASH
∎ Engagement period : 01 (one) year
∎ Working hours : Full time (05 days in a week with minimum 37.5 hours)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support the process of mainstreaming and implementation of City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) approach for faecal sludge (FSM) and solid waste management (SWM) in different municipalities with relevant stakeholders
∎ Assist in the development of training module and communication materials for community, institutions, partners, sector professionals, and planning tools like SFD, CSP, SSP etc and their rollout
∎ Conduct assessment for situation analysis, and safely managed sanitation services, technical feasibility studies, detailed technical and environmental impact, and sustainability assessments
∎ Conceptualisation of green technologies in environment friendly safe sanitation and safe water provisions pondering the water security
∎ Support the process of designing and implementation of digital utility services for different municipalities
∎ Ensure water quality in different safe water provisions, and conduct water quality tests as appropriate
∎ Assist partners to follow quality programme standard in construction, and operational management
∎ Support in promoting WASH through innovative and climate-resilient technologies/approaches
∎ Assist in the development and revision of technical brief, manual, and design guidelines
∎ Provide technical assistance to different programmes
∎ Organise trainings/workshops
∎ Documentation, reporting and presentation
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age below 26 years as on 01 October 2021
∎ Extensively travel at different parts of the country
∎ Written and verbal communication skills both in Bangla and English
∎ Admirable leadership, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills
∎ Excellent computer skill, and hands on experience of software like CAD, GIS, etc.
∎ Strong analytical skills, and capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Salary:
∎ Monthly BDT 30,000/- (consolidated), cell phone allowance and festival allowance
