Job Context:
∎ Background:
∎ Welthungerhilfe is active in Bangladesh since 1962 focusing on food and nutrition security, agricultural development, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), infrastructure, education and refugee emergency and the support to civil society organizations in the. WHH in partnership with ANANDO and FIVDB is implementing "Digital Innovation for Zero Hunger" Project to develop a digital app- Child Growth Monitor (CGM), an application which works on artificial intelligence and empowers the community worker by giving accurate and precise outcome of a child`s nutritional status. The upcoming project is planning to undertake ethical approval from "IRB Board, Dhaka University" as part of the National Research Clearance Process for the Digital Innovation for Zero Hunger Project- Child Growth Monitor" and looking for an experienced professional to coordinate the entire process and assure final approvals.
∎ Duration: Short Term Consultancy (joining ASAP, approx. 35 working days spread across 2 months)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Review the recommendations of legal firm and prepare a detailed action plan to meet ethical compliance for the project
∎ Understand the process and protocols to get ethical approval based on project requirements from IRB, Dhaka University.
∎ Find out the requirements to receive approval from IRB, of an affiliated University (such as Dhaka University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology) and coordinate and assure receiving approval from IRB, of the respective University.
∎ Review and revision of project documents and policies to ascertain ethical compliance
∎ Prepare and finalize all the required documents including research protocol and power point presentations to present the project to concerned committees
∎ Present the project to IRB for approval and regular follow up and revision of documents based on IRBs recommendations and queries
∎ Prepare a process document on ethical approvals for digital projects in Bangladesh

Additional Requirements:
∎ Possess working knowledge of the regulatory landscape
∎ Possess a working knowledge of health research methodology
∎ 3 to 4 yrs relevant work experience with research ethics & getting ethical approval for research and digital project in Bangladesh
∎ Skills:
∎ Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills with problem solving skills
∎ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently
∎ Excellent Analytical Skills
∎ Computer proficiency, especially MS Office applications
∎ Must ensure confidentiality of privileged information
