Job Context:
∎ Our Team:
∎ The Campaigns Team is a dynamic team of policy, media and comms working on the Rohingya Response in Bangladesh. The team works in coordination with country Policy Advocacy Campaign and Communication team as well as with Regional and Global program to define advocacy influencing and campaign strategy to improve the lives of Rohingya refugees and the host community in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Additional Requirements:
∎ We are looking for an experienced Policy Lead who has a passion for raising the voices of communities living in crisis. You will be a creative self-starter who has proven experience in managing Policy works for a large organization, conducting research, and external representation
∎ Essential:
∎ Comprehensive knowledge of and exposure to a wide range of humanitarian assistance and related global displacement issues, preferably with knowledge of INGO humanitarian operations and International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law.
∎ Experience working on policy for refugee contexts including a comprehensive understanding of relevant international law, humanitarian standards and policies as they relate to refugees.
∎ Superior writing and research skills to produce succinct, authoritative briefings, papers and presentations for range of audiences, with an emphasis on a clear, easy to read written style.
∎ Highly articulate with excellent judgement, able to represent Oxfam in public and private forums
∎ Knowledge and understanding of the Rohingya situation and experience of working on the
∎ issue and/or in the region
∎ Understanding of gender issues in emergency settings and commitment to gender equity.
∎ Understanding of and deep commitment to humanitarian values.
∎ Knowledge and understanding of gender issues in humanitarian policy influencing and campaigning.
∎ Experience in managing risk and maintaining discretion in a fast-paced and complex humanitarian and political landscape, including ability to analyse and articulate the humanitarian dimension of complex issues.
∎ Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work well in hard working response and global teams
∎ Ability to work effectively and calmly in a high-pressure environment and to prioritise and manage assignments in a timely fashion
∎ Ability to work well in a collaborative team as well as remotely with global teams across different time zones and with cultural differences
∎ Fluency in written and spoken English and computer literate • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work well in hard working response and global teams.
∎ Ability to work effectively and calmly in a high-pressure environment and to prioritise and manage assignments in a timely fashion
∎ Ability to work well in a collaborative team as well as remotely with global teams across different time zones and with cultural differences
∎ Fluency in written and spoken English and computer literate
∎ Desirable:
∎ Advanced degree in International Refugee Law, Human Rights Law or International Humanitarian Law. Any experience with Bangladeshi law would be a plus.
∎ Experience designing and managing field research highly desirable
∎ Fluent in Bangla, Rohingya or Chittagong dialects
∎ Key Attributes:
∎ Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities
