Job Responsibilities:
∎ Study fashion trends and apparel market and present product collections and design solutions focused on each client in close coordination with the designers, product managers, buyers in the client office.
∎ Understand fabric mills and vendors' new developments and capabilities.
∎ Identify gap areas for each client and work alongside the relevant manager and execute.
∎ Use trend information and source newness and innovation from the supplier base.
∎ Understand individual brands' needs, price structure, and margin parameters.
∎ Maintain cross-functional dialogue with merchandising teams and vendors to organize vendor visits.
∎ Work with vendors to develop samples from design pack to client approval.
∎ A broad sourcing base of fabrics, trims, and accessories in Asia.
∎ Must understand the Global market.
∎ Identify and develop new sources and products to fulfill the business requirements of the category.
∎ Review business opportunities with the Design Director on client specifics to develop new product ranges and target opportunities.
∎ Research & communicate new products & regional market trends and styles to Clients and teams.
∎ Having an insight into all kinds of surface treatments and ornaments on garments like computer embroidery/hand embroidery / manual embroidery/garment washes and over-dyeing/rotary printing & placement printing.
∎ Offer technical solutions in terms of production feasibility and changes to make the product more price effective
∎ Well-versed with fashion trends and garment development technicalities of retail and export manufacturing industry with the ability to interact and negotiate effectively.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ 7+ years of relevant experience with exposure in the US/UK fashion markets is an advantage.
∎ Hands-on experience in ladies' apparel particularly in design/ product development. Men's and kids are an advantage.
∎ Skillful in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop are a must, 3D is a bonus.
∎ Excellent communication skills in collaborating with technical and product management teams in working with factories to prepare samples and presenting trend information and design ideas to clients.
∎ Willing to travel
∎ Fluent oral and written English skills are essential.
∎ Good fashion sense, knowledgeable in woven, cut & sewn knit and sweater.
∎ Good time management skills and able to work under pressure.
∎ Immediate availability will be an advantage.
∎ Should be a good team player.
Salary: Negotiable
