Job Responsibilities:
∎ Leading the product development process from concept to final product, including design, development, sourcing, technical specification, and pre-production approval.
∎ Developing and managing a product development team, providing guidance and support in order to achieve company goals.
∎ Collaborating closely with design and merchandising teams to ensure that product development is aligned with brand and business strategies.
∎ Monitor daily status of development projects and collaborate with cross-functional partners
∎ Build, manage, and maintain time and action calendars for the entire product development lifecycle
∎ Managing timelines for product development, ensuring that projects are completed on time meeting the expected quality standard.
∎ Maintaining a high level of quality in all products developed, ensuring that they meet or exceed customer expectations.
∎ Staying up-to-date with industry trends and innovations in product development, and sharing this knowledge with the team to improve processes and outcomes.
∎ Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other external partners in order to ensure that product development is efficient and cost-effective.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Extensive knowledge about fabric qualities, yarn, measurements, pattern, fit, technical aspects of garment construction, and womenswear technical aspects
∎ Proven experience in leading and managing a product development team.
∎ In-depth understanding of product development processes, including design, material sourcing, sample development, and production.
∎ Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and innovations in product development.
∎ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers.
∎ Must be accustomed to fashion-graphic designing, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
∎ Ability to manage timelines and ensure projects are completed on time and to the expected quality standard.
∎ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve potential issues in product development.
∎ Experience in managing time and action calendars for the product development lifecycle
∎ High level of attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining quality standards.
∎ Proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimization.
∎ Ability to analyze retail and market trends and adjust product assortments while maintaining brand integrity standards.
∎ Must have good knowledge of various types of print, embroidery, and other garment technology.
∎ Capacity to empower others by sharing information and context around strategic direction and the decision-making process.
∎ Minimum 7+ years of experience in product development, preferably in womenswear.
