Job Context:
∎ CWFD emerged from an emotional response to help women in need of reproductive health care counseling. The organization, originally named as "Concerned Women for Family Planning (CWFP), started its voluntary activities in 1974 to help the refuge coming to Dhaka city after the devastating famine of 1974. The organization was registered in 1975 with Directorate of Social welfare and formally launched its project activities in 1976 with only 5 female staff to cover an area of Dhaka city slum comprising around 50,000 people.
∎ Vision Statement: To empower women of Bangladesh to achieve better status within the family and society.
∎ Mission Statement: CWFD is a non-political, non-profit voluntary organization run by women of Bangladesh to support, promote and protect the interest of women in Bangladesh by providing community based health care, empower community to exercise their rights to eliminate social injustice, creating economic opportunities, empower under privileged youth of urban and rural population and develop human resources for a positive social change.
∎ Project background:
∎ In 2013, Concerned Women for Family Development received funds from Plan International Bangladesh to implement "Generation Breakthrough" project. This project aims to address gender based violence (GBV) in Bangladesh by establishing linkages to adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender equity, with a focus on engaging boys and improving relationship building skills. As a part of delivering adolescent friendly health services, Generation Breakthrough project will operate a helpline to deliver tele-counseling and referral services on sexual and reproductive health and gender based violence. The primary target group of this helpline is adolescents aged 10-19 years.
∎ CWFD and Plan International Bangladesh do not allow any perpetrator on child abuse.
∎ Duty station: Patuakhlai District
∎ Job Duration: Up to December, 2019
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical support to school teachers in implementation of Gender Equity Movement in School (GEMS) manual.
∎ Regular visit to the enlisted Schools, Clubs and Madrashas.
∎ Provide technical support to the Gender Promoters in clubs in implementing awareness program on ASRHR and Gender Based Violence.
∎ Organize and facilitate awareness raising meeting in the community on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Gender Based Violence.
∎ Organize Community Advocacy meeting with different stakeholders on Gender and ASRHR.
∎ Project monitoring data punching using Tablet computer.
∎ Monthly report writing including case studies / success stories.
∎ Line of responsibility: The Technical Officer is directly reportable to the Field Manager in Patuakhali.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience on working with ASRHR and Gender Based Violence reducing program.
∎ Extensive travel in the project areas.
∎ Demonstrate active listening.
∎ Demonstrate good communication skills.
∎ Demonstrate empathy.
∎ Ability to set boundaries.
∎ Ability to think critically.
∎ Ability to handle pressure.
∎ Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Salary:
∎ BDT 13,000-19,500 per month (Including all other benefits).
