Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work with the Communications Specialist and the Activity technical teams to learn about their needs, which require graphic arts expertise.
∎ Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to develop conceptual ideas around Activity objectives; take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, infographics, diagrams, layouts, charts, maps, and other designs.
∎ Design and develop infographics, charts, maps, banners, festoon, promotional materials, and other visual content for publications, reports, marketing materials, newsletter, events, social media, and other platforms using a variety of formats.
∎ Support the Communications Specialist in drafting graphic art concepts to be included in quarterly reports, annual reports, work plans, MEL reports, Activity brochures, Activity bulletins, newsletters, etc.
∎ Design and build publication-ready data visualizations using unstructured and structured data.
∎ Prepare files for four-color printing and troubleshoots technical issues in graphic files for pre-press and printing.
∎ Comply with USAID branding guidelines and program approved Branding and Implementation Plan and Marking Plan.
∎ Perform any other communications tasks related to the objectives of the Activity as assigned by the Communications Specialist or other Activity leadership.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2 years of experience in graphic design, illustration, digital media, communications, public relations, or related field.
∎ Demonstrated success in planning and implementing data visualization projects.
∎ Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals.
∎ Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge, such as layout, typography, color, interaction design.
∎ Experience with a range of online content platforms and software including Adobe Creative Suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PremierPro, Spark, etc.), data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, Quikview, and other business intelligence tools, MS Office, and Mac or PC proficient.
∎ Short video/animation production and editing experience is a plus.
∎ Ability to deliver creative visuals under pressure and meet deadlines.
∎ Ability to establish and maintain effective, sustainable relationships with Activity staff, USAID Mission personnel, private sector partners, and business community.

Salary:
∎ Negotiable based on experience, qualifications, and salary history.
