Job Context:
∎ Smart Innovations is looking for a Music Teacher for its educational initiative, Smart Innovations School.
∎ The Music Teacher will work with students to facilitate experiences with a variety of ages and developmental levels. This Teacher will prepare a music curriculum in which all students are introduced to a solid musical foundation, including an introduction to vocal music and musical instruments (Bangladeshi and Western).
∎ Music performances is an expected component of the school program.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objectives:
∎ Prepares lessons and teaches general music including harmony, appreciation, history and ensemble.
∎ Differentiate music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body.
∎ Plans and prepares a balanced music program, and organizes daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
∎ Evaluates each student's musical growth and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute.
∎ In keeping with the school-wide philosophy of inquiry-based, student-centered learning, the Music Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing the curriculum as well as collaborating with classroom teachers to successfully plan for integration across the curriculum.
∎ Responsibilities:
∎ Identify, prepare and accomplish clear teaching and learning goals.
∎ Creates lesson plans by utilising aligned curriculum standards that drives instruction through different forms of assessments and include differentiation.
∎ Integrates and uses available technology/instructional media to enhance students' learning experiences.
∎ Integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) based techniques at the time of planning and delivering lessons to the students.
∎ Establish a safe, secure and supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviours.
∎ Partner and communicate with students and parents to support, guide and share the student's academic growth through assessment, written reports and constructive feedback.
∎ Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse.
∎ Day-to-Day Activities
∎ Demonstrate mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials.
∎ Provide activities and opportunities appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of the students.
∎ Identify SEN (special education needs), EAL (English as an additional language) and GT (gifted and talented students) and ensure their needs are met through differentiation.
∎ Provide consistent, time appropriate feedback to student learning.
∎ Provide a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction in the classroom.
∎ Compile and prepare individual assessments for each student, and provide written reports to the parents and the school.
∎ Maintain a clean, organized and presentable classroom at all times.
∎ Attend and participate in staff meetings and extra-curricular/school-related activities and committees.
∎ Commit to continuous professional growth and work with school management to formulate and achieve professional development goals.
∎ Participate and contribute to the evaluation of the program's goals and objectives, and help improve as and where required.
∎ Participate and contribute towards any accreditation process that the school requires.
∎ Cover for absent colleagues as and when required by the school management.
∎ Any other roles and/or duties as assigned by the school management from time to time.
∎ Inform the school management of any problems, conflicts or program concerns as soon as they arise in written.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ Valid Teaching Certification and qualified to teach at the elementary/primary level
∎ Grammatically Accurate English verbal and written skills
