Requirements:
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. Provide consultative training, and logistical assistance to the Pre-UG community on issues of good practices related to student success and well-being,
∎ 2. In conjunction with Academic Advisors and the Director of Learning Outcomes and Student Success, make an action plan for students who fail to gain entrance to UG,
∎ 3. Monitor students with problematic attendance and report to the Director of Learning and Student Wellbeing and other relevant persons.
∎ 4. Contribute to the development and administration of faculty training efforts related to student success and well-being, including the new faculty.
∎ 5. Perform other duties as assigned or appropriate in support of faculty and student success and well-being.
∎ 6. Provide a minimum of two workshops per semester for the Pathways students.
∎ 7. Provide staff professional development/workshops within the department as directed by key individuals.
∎ 8. Oversee an assigned number of students per semester on academic warning. Track their progress, provide direction and support as needed.
∎ 9. Attend all relevant department and school-wide meetings as requested.
∎ 10. Complete Individual Education Plans (IEP) as needed and track IEP goals and objectives.
∎ 11. Meet weekly with each assigned low-achieving student, set ‘SMART’ targets and track their progression.
∎ 12. Communicate with the relevant teachers and/or academic advisors to ensure support is provided for each student when required.
∎ 13. Observe students in the classroom, determine their needs, and coordinate accordingly.
∎ 14. Complete all the required documentation and reports related to this role by the required date and time.
∎ As this is an administrative position, besides teaching it is required you be available on campus during each trimester from 9:30am to 5:30pm, Sunday to Thursday. Some weekend activities may occasionally be required.
∎ Teach 6 contact hours per trimester
