Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. User Support:
∎ • Provide first-line support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
∎ • Assist users with troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, and offering guidance on system usage.
∎ • Respond to help desk tickets and service requests in a timely manner.
∎ • Minimise down time and disruption to the users and business.
∎ 2. Hardware and Software Maintenance:
∎ • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware components.
∎ • Perform software installations, updates, and patches on user devices.
∎ • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance and security.
∎ 3. Network Support:
∎ • Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless networks.
∎ • Collaborate with network administrators to resolve connectivity issues and optimize network performance.
∎ 4. Security:
∎ • Implement and enforce IT security policies, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data.
∎ • Assist in monitoring and responding to security incidents and breaches.
∎ 5. Documentation:
∎ • Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, software licenses, and configurations.
∎ • Document solutions to common issues and create user guides as needed.
∎ 6. Collaboration:
∎ • Work closely with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues.
∎ • Collaborate with external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
∎ 7. Training and Awareness:
∎ • Conduct user training sessions to enhance IT literacy and promote best practices.
∎ • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to provide proactive support.
∎ • Proactively provide guidance, training and support to ensure users operate hardware and software in an efficient and effective manner.
∎ 8. Vendor Management
∎ • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring quality of service delivery and cost-effectiveness
∎ 9. Tasks Management / Projects
∎ • Manage projects and tasks as assigned from initiation to completion.
∎ • Monitor progress and report back to management.
∎ 10. Backup and Recovery
∎ • Ensure integrity of data and backups are in line with policies and disaster recovery plans.
