Job Responsibilities:
∎ Applications Programming
∎ Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates complex programs for functional areas.
∎ Analysis existing programs or works to formulate logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, data analysis, and tests/debugs programs through the application of professional programming concepts.
∎ Provides analysis for the design and use complex relational databases.
∎ Develops conversion and system implementation plans.
∎ Recommends and implements changes in development, maintenance and system standards.
∎ Implements industry practices and department policies and procedures relating to work assignments.
∎ Develop backend with NodeJS and PHP or Python
∎ Collaborate with business users to understand and develop business requirements; analyze and translate business requirements into functional and non-functional technical requirements.
∎ Project Management
∎ Provides prompt and professional incident, service request and project communications.
∎ Adheres to project prioritization, scope, budget and deadlines as defined by management
∎ Interacts with senior level internal personnel.
∎ Evaluate and develop accurate timelines for tasks and projects based on complexity, resources, competing priorities and time required to complete. Consistently meet or exceed timelines for assigned tasks and projects.
∎ Develop and maintain software architecture standards to ensure applications follow modern development and software security practices
∎ Testing and Reporting
∎ Develop and execute moderately complex test plans, including software functionality, integrity, and security based on industry tools and practices, departmental guidance and policies.
∎ Performs complex data modelling, performance and integration testing and builds interfaces for a variety of internal and external constituents.
∎ Training and Documentation
∎ Gathers, analyses, prepares and summarizes recommendations for approval of system and programming documentation as defined by management.
∎ Documents project expenditures (time and materials).
∎ Trains users in migration and implementation of system.
∎ Conducts training of student developers, team members and others as needed.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 26 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Advanced knowledge & experience with development using various technologies, libraries & programming languages such as NodeJs, ExpressJS, PHP (Laravel) or Python (DJango).
∎ Experience working with RESTFUL APIs, GraphQL API & other APIs (i.e Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.)
∎ Experience with stored procedures and the design of relational databases using MySQL/ PostgreSQL, MongoDB/ DynamoDB etc.
∎ Knowledge of the principles, techniques, tools and best practices in web environments (i.e GitHub, GitLab or CodeCommit).
∎ Experience in web project management (agile & waterfall software development).
∎ Knowledge of project management concepts and methods and experience in planning and managing cross functional projects that are usually completed within 1 year.
∎ Experience in providing supervision, guidance, leadership and feedback to project teams and junior resources.
∎ Ability to communicate technical concepts to users.
∎ Advanced knowledge of server security and access principles and best practices.
∎ Analytical skills to diagnose, troubleshoot, debug and repair complex programming issues.
∎ Ability to proactively keep abreast of new and emerging technologies.
∎ Leadership and consensus building skills.
