∎ Innovation Officer, Mobile Vertical Garden (MVG)
∎ Location: Dhaka Based with frequent field visit on various parts of Bangladesh
∎ Contract type: Contractual
∎ Duration: Up to March 2024, with a possibility of extension based on the availability of funds and performance.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the supervision of the country office program and WHH HQ innovation unit, this position will be responsible for the piloting of "Mobile Vertical Garden", coordinating with the partner "Potro". The "Mobile Vertical Garden" designed for internally displaced persons and war-torn refugees living in Bangladesh, was the winning idea at WHH Innolab 2021. It was developed by participants from Sudan and Bangladesh. The mobile vertical garden allows people to grow nutritious food in a small space protecting the food source from the impact of climate change. ∎ Collaborate with the Partner, WHH Bangladesh, and the Innovation Unit to refine and improve the MVG prototype based on user feedback and testing result
∎ Test and iterate the prototype of the MVG at the targeted mass community level to ensure the MVG prototype is optimized for mass production and meets the required quality standards.
∎ Setting up an effective information-sharing and feedback channel to measure the success of the MVG-tests
∎ Responsible to lead the innovative product to a successful social business along pre-defined stages
∎ Monitor the activities of the partner and guide them based on arising issues, such as assessing different business models, marketing strategies, different partnerships and product development
∎ Conduct market research and analysis to assess the demand and potential of the MVG in different regions of Bangladesh.
∎ Run feasibility tests of prototypes
∎ Fundraising to expand the implementation of MVGs
∎ In case of external fundings, lead of monitoring and reporting
∎ Create chances of Collaboration with relevant stakeholders to identify and address user needs and market opportunities for the MVG.
∎ Collaboration and creation of partnership with other stakeholders to increase field level demand for the product
∎ Conduct surveys to monitor and evaluate the social, economic and environmental impact of the MVG and identify opportunities for further improvement and innovation.
∎ Prepare regular progress reports and presentations on the MVG project for stakeholders, including the Partner, WHH Bangladesh, and potential funders
∎ Collaborate with the Finance team to manage the budget for the MVG project, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently and monitor the expenses of the partner.
∎ Contribute to the development and improvement of other innovation unit products based on skills and expertise.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ Fluency in English & Bengali (both written and spoken)
∎ Innovative and ability to think out of the box
∎ Knowledge of business development, marketing, and mass community mobilization
∎ Able to use modern office communication tools
∎ Leadership and motivational attributes
∎ Excellent writing skills (esp. Proposal writing)
∎ Can be able to perform in a challenging environment (remote areas)
∎ Previous working experience in innovation, business or NGO sector is an advantage
Salary:
∎ Salary scale SG 6 Entry Level (BDT 94,395.00/- per month)
