Job Responsibilities:
∎ n Haor areas, safe water supply is a big concern because of some critical problems. In such a critical situation of safe water supply in Haor area, Oxfam in Bangladesh designed a mini Arsenic-Iron Removal Unit (AIRU) and piloted in two Haor districts to combat with the problems and to ensure safe water supply to the community.
∎ Aesthetically and according to number of basic tests including Arsenic and Iron test, AIRU has been observed and experienced as an effective Arsenic removal option in Haor areas.
∎ At this stage of piloting of the option for around three years, it is important to explore/study/understand its' effectiveness and efficiency to step for its' promotion as a replicable model.
∎ To conduct the study a volunteer will be recruited who will responsible for field level activities and also some desk work.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Young, motivated and Interested to travel frequently
∎ Excellent writing skill in English & basic photography skill
∎ Experience in communication outreach and writing especially case study/story writing
∎ Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities
∎ Ability to demonstrate an openness and willingness to learn about the application of gender/gender mainstreaming, women's rights, and diversity for all aspects of development work
∎ Commitment to Oxfam's safeguarding policies to ensure all people who come into contact with Oxfam are as safe as possible
Salary:
∎ A motivational allowance of BDT 1,000 will be paid to the Volunteer during the period of assignment for transportation and lunch based on actual working days
