Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design and execution by handling dual responsibilities: creating precise engineering layouts and managing day-to-day operations on-site. You will play a key role in ensuring our structural, architectural, and interior construction projects are drafted accurately, supervised efficiently on-site, and executed within budget through rigorous cost estimation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Civil Drafting & Structural Layouts (AutoCAD)

• Prepare, modify, and review detailed architectural, structural, and working drawings using AutoCAD and other civil drafting software.

• Draft precise layout plans, sections, elevations, and detailing for building foundations, columns, beams, and slabs.

• Convert raw conceptual sketches and architectural designs into highly technical, workable blueprints while strictly adhering to the BNBC (Bangladesh National Building Code).

• Collaborate closely with architects, structural designers, and project managers to revise drawings based on site conditions or client feedback.

2. Site Supervision & Project Execution

• Provide continuous, high-quality on-site supervision to ensure all civil, structural, and finishing works align perfectly with approved drawings and specifications.

• Manage construction labor, sub-contractors, and vendors to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure productivity.

• Perform quality checks on incoming construction materials (reinforcement bars, concrete mix, bricks, finishing items) and ensure proper workmanship.

• Maintain comprehensive daily site logs, progress reports, and measurement books.

• Proactively resolve site execution errors and ensure stringent compliance with workplace safety standards.

3. Cost Estimation & Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

• Conduct accurate material take-offs and compile comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for ongoing and upcoming projects.

• Calculate precise requirements for concrete volumes, reinforcement steel tonnage, brickwork, plastering, and interior/finishing materials.

• Prepare regular contractor bills, verify running accounts (RA bills), and evaluate extra work claims against actual site measurements.

• Assist management in cost control and variance analysis by tracking projected vs. actual material consumption.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution (IEB member preferred).

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven hands-on experience in building construction, structural layouts, or interior/fit-out project execution in Bangladesh.

• Technical Mastery:

  • Exceptional proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D) for civil and structural drafting.

  • Strong mastery of MS Excel for complex mathematical take-offs, tracking estimations, and budgeting.

  • Thorough understanding of construction sequences, bar bending schedules (BBS), and material testing.

  • Solid working knowledge of the BNBC and local building regulatory rules (e.g., RAJUK Imarat Nirman Bidhimala).

• Soft Skills: Good leadership skills to manage site labor, excellent problem-solving skills under pressure, and strong verbal/written communication in Bangla and English.
