Responsibilities & Context
We are looking for a technical co-founder to become CTO of a new SaaS platform
The founder has the domain direction, the product specification and an early database foundation. You would own the technology and turn this into a working product with a first real customer.
The role: Co-Founder and CTO
You will be the single technical owner of the product, from architecture through to production, and a full partner in company decisions. You will be hands-on first and a team builder later.
Own the system architecture, database design and technology choices, and keep them simple enough for a small team to run.
Build the prototype and then the MVP yourself, working with the founder in short, reviewable iterations.
Protect the integrity of the product: deterministic and reproducible calculations, full audit trails, and strict separation of customer data between companies.
Set engineering standards for testing, security, documentation and deployment from day one.
Decide where AI helps (document extraction, anomaly explanation, assistant) and where it must not be trusted (final calculations).
Recruit and lead the first engineers and contractors once the MVP has users.
Join customer conversations and pilots, and translate what factories need into product decisions.
What you will build first
The first goal is a working MVP that one real test company can use end to end. The order below follows our build plan and is indicative.
Foundation: authentication, companies, facilities, reporting periods, role-based access, document storage, audit logs, and company-level data isolation.
Calculation engine: common activity-data model, conversions, calculations
Compliance: a configurable rules engine for regulatory requirements, obligations per facility, permits, a calendar and reminders.
Reporting: a metric library, framework mappings and a generated PDF report.
AI assistance: document extraction with human verification, anomaly explanations and a data-grounded assistant. This comes last and is never used for final calculations.
Must-have qualifications and skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering, including at least one product you built from scratch and took to real users, ideally as an early engineer or tech lead
Experience owning a production SaaS system end to end: design, build, deploy, monitor and support.
A degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent proven experience.
Technical skills
Strong Python backend development: FastAPI or similar, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy and Alembic migrations.
Strong TypeScript and React, ideally with Next.js, and the ability to build clean, responsive interfaces.
Deep PostgreSQL skills: normalised schema design, versioned reference data, indexing, and row-level security for multi-tenant isolation.
Experience with authentication and role-based access control, file storage with signed URLs, and audit logging.
Automated testing (unit, integration and security tests) and CI/CD on a cloud platform such as Vercel, Render, Railway, Fly.io or AWS.
Practical security knowledge: tenant isolation, secrets handling, input validation and protection of sensitive business data.
Experience integrating LLM APIs behind an abstraction layer, with a clear understanding of their limits (extraction and explanation, not authoritative calculation).
Working style
Comfortable building in small, reviewable chunks with a non-technical co-founder, explaining decisions in plain language.
Fluent English, written and spoken. Bangla is a strong advantage but not required.
Nice to have
Experience with data-heavy products: spreadsheet and CSV import, data validation, unit conversion, anomaly detection and PDF report generation.
Experience with document or OCR pipelines and human-in-the-loop verification.
Knowledge of Bangladesh's business and regulatory environment, or of the garment and textile supply chain.
Experience with Supabase or a similar backend-as-a-service, and with migrating off one.
Experience building multi-country or multi-language (internationalised) software.
A network of engineers in Bangladesh or South Asia who could join the first hires.
Who you are
A builder who values correctness. You care more about numbers that can be traced and reproduced than about a polished demo.
Honest about uncertainty. You will show "missing" or "estimated" rather than fill a gap, and you will say so when something is unknown.
A pragmatic scoper. You can resist adding features and keep the MVP small, in a product that could grow into a much larger platform.
A clear communicator. You can explain technical trade-offs to a founder who is not a programmer.
An owner. You are comfortable with the uncertainty of an early start-up and want real equity in a company you help shape.
Motivated by the problem. You care about helping Bangladeshi factories meet climate and compliance expectations.

How to apply
Send us the following by 31st October 2026 to [email protected]:
A short note on why this problem interests you.
Your CV or LinkedIn profile.
A link to something you built and shipped (a repository, product or demo), and what your own role in it was.
Your availability, location and what you are looking for in terms of equity and commitment.
The process has three steps: a first conversation with the founder, a technical discussion of the architecture, and a paid or unpaid trial week working on a small real task together.
