Responsibilities & Context
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Site Engineer – Civil Construction with hands-on experience in major infrastructure projects, specifically Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) or metro rail systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing civil works on-site in strict compliance with approved design drawings and Work Method Statements (WMS). You will play a crucial role in maintaining uncompromised safety standards, ensuring superior workmanship, and coordinating daily site activities to keep the project on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Execution & Workmanship
Supervise daily civil construction activities (e.g., foundation, piers, viaducts, station buildings, platform structures, or depot works) in accordance with project specifications.
Ensure the highest standards of workmanship across all construction stages, preventing rework and minimizing material wastage.
Strictly enforce and follow approved Work Method Statements (WMS) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all site operations.
Monitor resource deployment, including labor, materials, and heavy machinery, to optimize productivity on-site.
2. Engineering & Drawing Management
Demonstrate a thorough understanding and interpretation of civil, structural, architectural, and utility drawings, ensuring work is built to exact lines, levels, and dimensions.
Review construction drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and shop drawings, reporting any discrepancies or clashes to the Senior Engineer or design team immediately.
Maintain up-to-date red-line drawings and assist in the preparation of As-Built drawings upon completion of work segments.
3. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Champion a safety-first culture on-site, ensuring zero-tolerance for unsafe acts or conditions, particularly given the high-risk nature of MRT environments (e.g., working at heights, near live tracks, heavy lifting, and traffic diversions).
Conduct regular Toolbox Talks (TBT) and enforce the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensure proper implementation of Traffic Management Plans (TMP), excavation safety, scaffolding inspections, and environmental protection measures.
4. Quality Control & Assurance (QC/QA)
Coordinate with the QA/QC team to carry out routine material inspections, concrete pours, and structural testing (e.g., slump tests, cylinder compression tests).
Maintain accurate records of quality inspection checklists and sign-offs from consultants.
5. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate closely with subcontractors, surveyors, safety officers, and material suppliers to ensure smooth workflow.
Prepare daily progress reports (DPR), log site activities, and report any bottlenecks or delays to the Project Manager promptly.
Qualifications & Requirements
Category Requirement Education: Diploma in Civil engnineer having experience 10 years /Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.Experience: Minimum 3 to 6 years of site execution experience, with at least 2 years specifically on MRT, Metro Rail, Bridge/Viaduct, or heavy infrastructure projects.Technical Skills•
