Job Context:
∎ CEGIS invites application from competent citizen of Bangladesh for the position of Team Leader (Civil Engineer) for an overseas assignment based on the criteria below.
∎ CEGIS has signed a two-years duration contract for a WB funded project in Lao PDR for the Department of Waterways (DoW) under the ministry of Public Works and Transport. Now CEGIS is looking for a potential candidate for the position of Team Leader cum Resident Engineer. Academic qualification needs to be B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. The candidate must have adequate relevant experience and qualification in construction supervision works for construction of river protective works and water control structures. Past overseas experience or working with foreign consultants will be an asset. A handsome salary will be offered to the selected candidate together with other attractive facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Major Responsibilities include the following. Detail responsibilities will be shared to the candidates appearing for oral interview.
∎ Responsible for supervising the works and, if included, goods contract/s, as defined in this scope of works and as set down in the contract documents for the works and goods;
∎ Liaising with the design team under a separate consultancy on any design modifications that may become necessary, or are proposed by the contractor/s during the course of construction;
∎ Regular communication both verbal and written with DOW to ensure smooth running of the works and goods contracts.
∎ Writing Project Report
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 15 years' relevant experience in the construction supervision of large civil engineering projects valued over $10 million of which at least 10 years should have been on flood protection schemes or similar works;
∎ At least 5 years' experience in supervising projects in developing countries, and has experiences with World Bank or ADB funded will be an asset.
∎ Experience with implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP)
∎ Experience with writing project reports
∎ Experience with basic computer software, such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point
∎ Language Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
