Job Context:

∎ The Import Export Officer is responsible for ensuring that all imported, exported and in-transit are moved according to sound practices.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Liaise with national authorities to ensure exemptions for ICRC goods.
∎ Receives from Logistics internal customers freight (Pouch, Personal effects) and expedites them outside the country in collaboration with external commercial partners and other ICRC delegations.
∎ Ensures that records and data in all ICRC import-export systems including Dhaka logistics follow up system (tracker) are available and up to date along on filling and archiving import-export documents according to the ICRC retention schedule.
∎ Verifies invoices (from customs, freight forwarders, etc..) and share with procurement for settlement & report any irregularities identified.
∎ Assists in selection & assessment of external logistics providers.
∎ Ensures that the latest customs regulations and related legal texts are up-to-date in the logistics department filling system, communicated and applied.
∎ In charge of mobile staff passbooks application and follow up until their issuance by the relevant authorities.
∎ Any other task assigned by the supervisor
Additional Requirements:
∎ Five years with minimum three years' experience working in a clearing and forwarding organization.
∎ Excellent command over English.
∎ Excellent computer skills including various logistics software.
∎ Certification in clearing & forwarding will be considered as an asset.
∎ Valid IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations certification will be considered as an asset.
∎ Personal qualities for the position:
