∎ Solidaridad is a global network organization working on sustainable, resources-efficient and inclusive supply chain development. Solidaridad (www.solidaridadnetwork.org) is working for fostering sustainability and empowerment of smallholders and workers, by developing scalable and economically sustainable solutions in the agricultural and industrial landscape in close collaboration with governments, businesses and communities. Solidaridad is also working to strengthen civic space for enhancing productivity and inclusivity in the commodity supply chain/value chain in Bangladesh.
∎ Supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Solidaridad is going to implement the `SAFAL for Integrated Water Resources Management (SAFAL for IWRM)` project in southwest Bangladesh, which will put forward a community- based water management model for enhancing sustainable use, protection and restoration of watersheds for resilient agriculture through operationalization of IWRM. The project intends to improve and diversify coastal agriculture through innovative ecosystem-based water and land use planning that would provide greater climate resiliency and economic return for the coastal communities.
∎ Solidaridad in Bangladesh is recruiting Manger Integrated Water Resources Management to implement IWRM strategies for improving productivity and income of the smallholder farming households through water and climate smart technologies. Solidaridad IWRM strategies and intervention focuses on three inter-related outcomes: 1) Improved water use efficiency and soil fertility through regenerative/ climate smart agriculture production system, 2) Sustainable harnessing of ground and surface water for agriculture from the watersheds, and 3) Equitable use of water for agriculture ensured by community water groups.
∎ The Manger-Integrated Water Resources Management will be responsible for overall implementation project strategy and interventions in a region. S/he will take a lead role for implementing IWRM strategies for improving water use efficiency and soil health for generating higher productivity and income of the smallholder farmers. S/he will also work with communities to strengthen micro-watershed level water user groups and support in developing ecosystem, services for agricultural extension advisory services to adopt water efficient, regenerative and climate smart agricultural practices. The Manger Integrated Water Resources Management will support to rural communities to develop climate smart crop planning, resources planning and relevant advisory services. The Manager also will establish and maintain effective network with relevant government departments, private sectors, research institutes and other stakeholders.8
∎ The position will be based in Khulna/ Jashore District and will report to the Senior Programme Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for overall implementation of project interventions in the region and achieving set outputs and outcomes of project
∎ The Manager-IWRM is responsible for leading a regional team, consisting of staff from Solidaridad and local implementing partner and will ensure enabling working environment and team spirit.
∎ Shall be responsible to implement IWRM strategies and interventions for optimising increased yield and income through improved water use efficiency and cropping intensity.
∎ Conduct hydrological mapping of water structure, micro watersheds, number of farms, fresh water ponds and other water infrastructures in partnership with relevant research institutes and Universities.
∎ Develop micro watershed protection plan jointly with watershed committee and farmers' groups. Consult with LGED, BWDB and other relevant government departments and water experts for improvement of the plan.
∎ Develop and implement plan for recharge and rejuvenation of water sources, identification of suitable micro watershed and technologies for freshwater storages.
∎ Lead the process for identification of micro watersheds and formation of watershed committee and water user groups.
∎ Develop capacity building plan, training modules and guidelines for water management and land use planning for climate smart agriculture.
∎ Provide technical assistance in the planning and implementation of structural and nonstructural best management practices designed to restore and protect surface and groundwater quality.
∎ Promote and implement water efficient technologies and practices in coordination with universities, BARC, BAU, DAE, LGED etc.
∎ Lead the formation of multi stakeholder's platform (MSP) to promote sustainable use, protection and restoration of watersheds for resilient agriculture in Southwest Bangladesh.
∎ Assist management in drafting and preparing case study, report, information dissemination developing various operational processes and procedures, contracts and agreements from time to time.
∎ Establish effective network and maintain liaison with the relevant government departments, research institutes, private sectors to ensure required support for project implementation in the region.
∎ Perform the cross functional activities with as per organisational need.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of working experience in water resources management, climate smart agriculture, and food energy and supply system development.
∎ At least three years' experience in management position of agricultural development project.
∎ Familiarity and understanding of global sustainable debates and issues related to land-water and climate interactions and water-food and climate nexus.
∎ Knowledge and capacity on water management and climate changes adaptation.
∎ Excellent leadership skill and organizational skills to keep employees motivated and management of operation;
∎ Fosters an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and leveraged to achieve the vision and mission of the organization.
∎ Good initiator, liaison skills, negotiation skills, administrative and management skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
∎ Outstanding analytical writing skills in English and Bangla; excellent communication skills and fluency in spoken English are required;
