Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Administer prescribed medication and clinical advise appropriately for the admitted patient.
∎ Assess pre-operative patient.
∎ Assist at operation theater during surgery/procedure and camp.
∎ Manage post-operative patients.
∎ Help in health education session.
∎ Provide professional nursing care for the patient.
∎ Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
∎ Administer prescribed medications, applies sterile dressings.
∎ Monitors vital signs regularly as per guidelines.
∎ Appropriately maintain infection control protocol for the admitted patient.
∎ Practice universal precautions to reduce infection.
∎ Provide professional nursing care for the patients.
∎ Perform specialized nursing procedures related to the unique needs of a particular patient.
∎ Prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatment.
∎ Perform evaluation of new and existing patients to determine priorities.
∎ Collect patient relevant investigation at bed side before doctor round.
∎ Follow up with lab and x ray department for the report.
∎ Perform ECG·
∎ Performs phlebotomy when required.
∎ Take part in Patient and Family Education (PFE).
∎ Documents patient care services by charting patient and department records.
∎ Conduct the ECG and other services as and when necessary.
∎ During health camp, assist health team during patient screening and pre and post-operative patient management.
∎ Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
∎ Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of patient records.
∎ Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
∎ Maintain daily checklist of the Ward.
∎ Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
∎ Develop professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks; participating in professional training organized by the professional society and organization.
∎ Maintain teamwork among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving activities/initiatives.
∎ Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
∎ Maintain meticulous patient record appropriately and maintain in-patient file properly.
∎ Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
∎ Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
∎ Respect patients’ needs and requirements and address accordingly.
∎ Deal patient with appropriate manner and caring attitude.
∎ Increase acceptance, awareness and reinforce positive attitude in the Friendship working area towards the health programs through different awareness building and motivational activities.
∎ Attending the outdoor patients as when necessary for health care or referral.
∎ Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
∎ Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
∎ Ability to work under stress.
∎ Ability to tolerate long standing duties during surgery.· Follow the values and code of ethics of Friendship and work according to policy.
∎ Counseling of patient & taking consent for any procedure, interventions, or surgeries during secondary health camps.
∎ Taking care of post-operative patients during secondary health medical camp.
∎ Assist Lab Technologist for ECG as well as X-ray Technician for x-ray services for female patients when needed.
∎ Show empathy to the patients. Deal with patients politely and maintain professional relationships.
