Responsibilities & Context
Assess newly admitted patients and take a detailed medical history.
Perform physical examinations and document clinical findings.
Review patients regularly during ward rounds.
Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
Request appropriate laboratory tests, imaging, and other investigations.
Prescribe medications and treatment according to hospital protocols and the consultant's plan.
Prepare admission notes, treatment sheets, and investigation plans.
Coordinate with nursing staff regarding medication, monitoring, and patient care.
Update the consultant regarding the patient's condition and progress.
Confirm the discharge or transfer plan with the responsible consultant.
Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and duty schedules.
