Job Context:

∎ Location of posting: Dhaka, Chittagong, Kustia and Nilphamari (Placement will be on partner level and Dhaka Office)
∎ Types of contract: Contractual
∎ Duration of Contract: Up to December 2021
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work with local partners and Activista (ActionAid's global network of young volunteers)
∎
∎ Conduct capacity needs assessment with the partner staff and youth volunteers in association with Global Platform Bangladesh, ActionAid's capacity building hub for young people;
∎ Work with Global Platform of Bangladesh (GPB) for contextualisation of the content and training manual;
∎ Facilitate discussions with the partner organisation staff and young volunteers on youth representation and participation in decision-making structures and social inclusion and cohesion;
∎ Work with the partner staff and key youth volunteers to promote and streamline the use of participatory tools (e.g. Reflection Action Process) for context analysis;
∎ Work with the partner staff and young volunteers for analysing relevant local and national issues affecting the youth and the community in general and developing and executing action on those issues;
∎ Work with the partner staff and youth volunteers on how to facilitate inter-generational dialogue, what are the contextualised issues to be taken up and how to work on these;
∎ Mobilise the young people to influence the electoral commitments of local and national govt. representatives in a way that take onboard the perspectives of diverse young people;
∎ Support the partners in capturing and disseminating changes stories.
∎ Work with the youth platforms and networking
∎
∎ Work with the national level Activista to support their action youth participation and representation in decision-making structures and process and on the consolidation of social inclusion and cohesion;
∎ Support National Activista and partners in identifying existing networks and alliances working for youth participation and representation in decision making structures;
∎ Support youth platforms and networks/Activista/volunteers to be active in networks and platforms;
∎ Facilitate Activista to establish linkages with like-minded youth platforms;
∎ Support the process to connect young people with national and international advocacy platforms and campaigns.
∎ Work with Global Platform Bangladesh and A4I project
∎
∎ Work with A4I team and GPB to address the capacity development needs identified through context analysis and capacity need assessment process;
∎ Assist the GPB as required in the development of training resources and facilitation of training.
∎ Individual competence development
∎
∎ Hands on engagement with the project and partner level activities;
∎ Engage in developing module, guidelines and knowledge products;
∎ Engaging with various ICT based tools to generate knowledge and share across the levels;
∎ Engage in the sharing session with the Astivista and Youth Volunteers;
∎ Engage in learning networks with other Inspirators and Advisors in Bangladesh and abroad (online);
∎ Take online courses as relevant, e.g. provided by AA through the Learning Site.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Preferable - Knowledge on democratic culture, social cohesion, pluralism
∎ Minimum 1 year of professional experience preferably around youth work, particularly in the areas of volunteer management, knowledge management and communication.
∎ Experience in youth mobilisation
∎ Knowledge about participatory democracy and social inclusion and cohesion
∎ Skills in communications
∎ Knowledge and skills in advocacy and networking
∎ Innovative in knowledge management processes
∎ Skills in capacity needs assessment and capacity development of NGO staff and young volunteers
∎ Skills in the use of MS Office and social media platforms
∎ Good command of Bangla and English languages
∎ Commitment to the cause of youth development and social inclusion
Salary:
∎ BDT. 44226 whereas Per Diems Monthly: BDT. 19201 and Accommodation: BDT. 25025.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Moreover, Group Life Insurance and Medical Allowance will be covered.
