∎ Relief International (RI) has been working in Bangladesh since 2004, implementing programs covering emergency response, health, economic opportunity, trafficking in persons, gender equality and youth empowerment. RI has been present in Cox’s Bazar since 2014 where it was implementing a trafficking in person’s project in Ukhiya and Teknaf supporting old caseload refugees as well as host communities prior to the large-scale influx. Since 2017, RI has scaled up its operations in Cox’s Bazar to support the emergency response by providing integrated, multi-sectoral programming for refugee and host communities, covering health services, child protection, SGBV. Relief International is currently implementing a large scale refugee response program in Cox`s Bazar in Bangladesh in collaboration with multiple partners including UNHCR.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assess the IYCF need assessments of infants, young children under the age of 2 years, and lactating women/ caregivers.
∎ Provide nutritional counselling to mothers of young children, focusing on children in the first 1000 days of life.
∎ Provide one-on-one breastfeeding counselling for mothers experiencing difficulties breastfeeding including supporting re-lactation.
∎ Provide tailored messages one-on-one counselling sessions to mothers, in line with needs assessed in initial assessments, offering practical advice and education on key IYCF issues.
∎ Provide mothers with practical advice on correct attachment and positioning when breastfeeding and respond to any concerns or local taboos associated with breastfeeding.
∎ Counsel mothers on the appropriate time to introduce complementary feeding, and the benefits of continued breastfeeding and respond to any concerns or local taboos associated with complementary feeding.
∎ Educate the mothers on the quality, quantity, and frequency of complementary feeds to promote adequate weight gain (Age specific).
∎ Contribute to the development of contextually appropriate IEC materials for local IYCF assessments.
∎ Utilize education materials and tools on breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices, relaying accurate, practical, and specific advice for the mother's needs.
∎ Oversee messages of all children presenting with all forms of malnutrition like stunting and underweight for 0-23-month children.
∎ Refer mother if requiring MHPSS & Medical/health related support to Community health Team/PHC.
∎ Refer at risk children of 0-6 moth to inpatient centre (SC) and health facility if needed.
∎ Oversee Non-breastfeed child management.
∎ Conduct assessment of at-risk mother and infant (rapid and full).
∎ Oversee enrollment based on need counselling and ensured follow up.
∎ Enroll and discharge infants and the lactating woman according to IYCF/C-MAMI discharge criteria.
∎ Liaise with the Community Nutrition Supervisor to ensure active case finding for both C-MAMI and IYCF counselling and follow up C-MAMI defaulters and non-responders with home visits.
∎ Maintain records of mothers and children attending counselling sessions, receiving skilled assessment and support.
∎ Build capacity of staffs and CNV/CHNV/Polyvalent of nutrition team through on-the-job training.
∎ Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and submit it to the Nutrition Site Supervisor/Nutrition Meal Officer.
∎ Collect basic information, best practices, case studies, and lessons and report to the supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Around 1-2 years’ progressive experience in community nutrition field (For highly technical candidates, experience is considerable)
∎ Only Female candidates are encouraged to apply
∎ Technical knowledge on Community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM), C-MAMI and IYCF/E, ECCD programming
∎ Familiar with SBCC activities, Counselling and nutrition promotion
∎ FDMN (Rohingya refugee) experience and Rohingya language will be value added.
∎ Ability to work under minimal supervision, hard situations with minimal resource Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
∎ Ability to provide counselling support on breastfeeding to mothers
∎ Good command and fluency in Bengali and Local language/Chittagong dialect (will be preferable)
∎ Basic computer skills
∎ Ability to problem solving and good decision making and communication skills
∎ Ability to work in challenging environments and strict deadline
∎ Strong Flexibility and mobility during the project implementation period
∎ Good reporting and documentation skills
∎ Ability to work in team, respect team decisions and support multi-cultural team members
