Job Context:
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) is an inheritor of DANIDA Bangladesh derived from couple of project intervention explicitly DANIDA Boat Building Project and Boat Rental Scheme. CODEC has been working as a people centered development organization since 1985.
∎ CODEC is implementing different Development projects in the field of Education, Livelihood support, Environment, Legal Service, Humanitarian Field, Advocacy, Health & Nutrition etc. The aim of CODEC is to provide support and assistance to the disadvantaged coastal communities in their day-to-day struggle.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work as Gender & PSEA focal of the Organization.
∎ In consultation with all levels of the organization, especially Program departments and Gender & PSEA focal points, support the process of improving Gender & prevention of SEA through policy and practices, including PSEA standards into induction materials and training courses for CODEC employees and related personnel; reinforcing PSEA standards from the job description to final recruitment stage and performance management; and overall in systems development to ensure CODEC does not rehire or redeploy or provide references for those found responsible for SEA.
∎ Coordinate with members, the development of strategies, systems and procedures to respond to SEA, including integrating already existing complaint mechanisms and identifying additional complaint channels, supporting members with guidance on best practice community-based complaints mechanisms, and supporting the membership in developing investigative capacity and standards in victim/survivor assistance.
∎ Support members to have in place effective and consistent monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for Gender & PSEA.
∎ Coordinate CODEC members’ efforts in defining, compiling and collecting data related to Gender & Sexual Exploitation and Abuse/Child Protection and Sexual Harassment as lead on report-back both internally and externally.
∎ Provide technical advice, support and mentoring to CODEC Members and related Personnel conducting difficult investigations and act as the resource person to help source tools, resources and provide any relevant guidance.
∎ Provide guidance to members and trainers in the roll out of programmes and support Gender & PSEA/focal points and members in the development of awareness raising, sensitization, communication and training resources.
∎ Create and maintain a Gender & PSEA resource tool (e.g. wiki) to ensure systematic Knowledge sharing of CODEC Staff and related Personnel to prevent and empower them to respond to SEA.
∎ Build and maintain strong communication with the respective sector as well as other humanitarian agencies working with Gender & PSEA and also with government authorities.
∎ Provide support in DONOR assessment.
∎ Ensure confidentiality and the guiding principles of the organization & DONOR.
∎ Support any severe or special cases identified by the project management team and report to the higher management as well as the donor agency.
∎ Ensure the work plan, analyze the accomplishment report and provide required feedback to the project management.
∎ Monitoring & Supervision:
∎ Closely supervise the Project Management team with an effective team-building strategy.
∎ Monitor and evaluate the regular activities of the project-assigned officers in relation to gender & PSEA issues.
∎ Reporting & Documentation:
∎ Maintaining the PSEA Hotline number & PSEA Organizational Email.
∎ Documenting all the complaints in the Register.
∎ Should play the key role in all DONOR Assessment and upholding the PSEA Capacity.
∎ Updating all PSEA related documentation time to time.
∎ Assist Team Lead/ Project manager with qualitative and quantitative reporting (Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly/ Event Report) to the donor.
∎ Submit the investigation report to the concerned persons by maintaining confidentiality.
∎ Prepare progress report ( Weekly/bi-weekly/monthly)
∎ Coordination & representation:
∎ Agree to comply with the CODEC code of conduct and ensure Gender and PSEA standards are upheld.
∎ Adhere to and ensure the team under her/his responsibility follows CODEC administrative and logistic regulations and procedures.
∎ Attend all coordination meetings and share meeting results/findings with the management. Ensure effective coordination through attending all meetings, workshops, training, and forums at the sector level and represent the organization and update the Team Lead / Project Manager about new decisions.
∎ Maintain good communication with the DONOR field team and Stakeholders to adhere to the Gender and PSEA concerns.
∎ Attend Project/camp level Coordination meetings as per need.
∎ Undertake all other duties that may be determined by the organization and that are compatible with the job.
∎ S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)'s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse - PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Work Station will be at Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 3 years of increasingly responsible relevant professional experience.
∎ Demonstrated experience in the field of sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, gender based violence, misconduct and discipline, gender mainstreaming and/or humanitarian affairs.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an ability to conduct face-to face and remote learning events.
∎ Strong Report writing skill both Bangla &English
∎ Minimum 3 years experience in the field of NGO.
∎ Must have Computer knowledge (MS word, excel, PowerPoint, email, internet etc.)
∎ Strong in English and capable to write quality report in English is necessary.
∎ Strong ability in problem solving and decision-making
