Job Context:
∎ Based in: Cox`s Bazar with frequent field visits to Ukhiya.
∎ Duration of the contract: One year (with possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds)
∎ Reporting to: Swiss Red Cross Head of Sub-Delegation
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The roles and responsibilities of the Senior Programme, under the supervision and guidance of the Swiss Red Cross Head of Sub-Delegation, include but not limited to:
∎
∎ The team consists of the Head of Sub-Delegation, the senior programme manager, and a field coordinator (FC)/planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting (PMER) manager. The FC/PMER manager will directly report to the senior programme manager.
∎ Guide the programme implementation in close coordination with BDRCS.
∎ Closely cooperate with the PMO Health and WASH sectors, and relevant ISCG sectors under which all project components are being implemented, in an effective and target-oriented manner.
∎ Support BDRCS with activity planning and implementation to ensure that project deliverables timely and in line with set objectives and the required quality standards.
∎ Support the finance officer of BDRCS in regard to the project-related financial planning and reporting.
∎ Oversee all regular monitoring activities as per monitoring and reporting plan, refine monitoring tools and approaches in close coordination with the FC/PMER manager and together strengthen the monitoring and reporting capacities of BDRCS.
∎ Provide management and capacity building support to BDRCS programme team and the local branch in Cox's Bazar.
∎ Develop and execute a participatory partnership management plan involving existing and new partners to reinforce coordination and collaboration with results focus
∎ Coordinate and liaise with Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement partners and other external stakeholders (e.g. donors, INGOs, UN agency, clusters, district/upazila/union government authorities etc.).
∎ Support field level staff, partners and volunteers in the management of any crises or emergency situation.
∎ Support the Head of Sub-Delegation in elaborating regular project reports and periodic SRC reporting to donors, and other relevant actors.
∎ Support the Head of Sub-Delegation in streamlining and systematizing the interaction between BDRCS and SRC. Also support the Head of Sub-Delegation in developing and executing the transition plans for the 5 PHCs.
∎ Perform any other duties assigned by the line management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience:
∎ Minimum 8 years of working experience with humanitarian work and knowledge of humanitarian context in Bangladesh, prior knowledge of Cox's Bazar context is an advantage
∎ Applicant must have proven skills as manager, i.e. preferably line managing a team
∎ Applicant must have high project management skills (i.e. working across all areas of project cycle management)
∎ Applicant must be highly skilled in quality narrative and numeric reporting and must have good documentation skills
∎ Sound knowledge and on health and experience in SWM will be an advantage
∎ Knowledge and Skills:

∎ Knowledge and understanding of primary and environmental health are a must; experience in Solid Waste Management (SWM) will be an advantage.
∎ Highly skilled in quality narrative and numeric reporting and good documentation skills
∎ Good computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
∎ Team player, with the ability to coordinate and engage others and build good working relationships with internal and external partners.
∎ Highly motivated proactive self-starter, able to set and achieve goals using own initiative.
∎ Highly organized, proactive and innovative approach to work.
∎ Languages: Fluency in English and Bangla. Good command in Local language is preferable
