Job Context:
∎ CIMMYT seeks to recruit a Communication Analyst who will be working for CIMMYT and CGIAR projects.
∎ Reportable to: Communications Coordinator, CIMMYT Bangladesh.
∎ Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh. with frequent field visits.
∎ Contract period: The position is for Bangladesh Nationals for an initial fixed-term contract of 1-year with 3 months probationary period, which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist in communication and knowledge dissemination initiatives.
∎ Assist to develop creative concepts and promote the work of projects implemented by CIMMYT.
∎ Coordinate with supervisor to create and implement an annual communication calendar.
∎ Assist to document and communicate project news, updates, and stories for wider dissemination.
∎ Document stories for dissemination in suitable formats (interviews, photographs, video) to target audiences in coordination with supervisor.
∎ Assist technical people in preparing scientific posters, presentations, and other materials.
∎ Support networking and engagement activities with other actors in Bangladesh - as a specific contribution to the projects' wider alignment and scaling objectives in coordination with supervisor.
∎ Oversee the activities related to the production of high-quality communications materials, including, digital content, reports and reviews, newsletters, publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other material that communicates the organization's activities, products and/or services, etc.
∎ Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain local media and media database as assigned by supervisor.
∎ Proficiency in design and publishing software.
∎ Work with printing houses, media houses, television channels or radio etc.
∎ Management of online supporters through social media under the guidance of supervisor.
∎ Manage photo and video content.
∎ Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At-least 3-4 years' experience working in relevant sector or 1-2 years in CGIAR centres.
∎ Experienced working with several projects.
∎ Support develop content for promotional materials including electronic newsletters, web site, social media, and blog.
∎ Relevant professional certification or portfolio in designing and media communication.
∎ Basic knowledge of and skills in desktop publishing, HTML, photography, and photo editing.
∎ Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences.
∎ Excellent writing ability (English and Bangla).
∎ Must be creative & resourceful.
∎ Able to manage multi-task.
∎ Experience with using social media: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
∎ Skills with PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-design are extremely useful.
