Job Context:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented GC Analyst to join our QC/R&D team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Gas Chromatography (GC), particularly GC-FID analysis of fragrance raw materials, aroma chemicals, essential oils, fragrance compounds and specialty chemicals. The selected candidate will be responsible for routine quality control testing, chromatographic fingerprinting, analytical method development, instrument maintenance and preparation of technical reports.This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of fragrance chemistry, analytical instrumentation and quality assurance, supporting both incoming raw material inspection and product development activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Incoming QC: Analyse aroma chemicals, essential oils and fragrance compounds for purity, assay and impurity profile against specifications and the supplier CoA.

• Fingerprinting: Compare each lot's chromatogram with the approved reference standard; flag adulteration, missing or extra peaks and drift in key components.

• Method work: Develop, optimise and validate GC-FID methods (column choice, oven programme, split ratio, inlet and detector settings); keep RI/Kovats tables current using n-alkane standards.

• Encapsulation support: Run assays for total fragrance load, free/surface oil and residual monomers in capsule slurries and finished samples; support stability and release studies.

• OpenLab CDS: Build and maintain methods, sequences, processing methods, calibration tables and report templates; ensure correct integration, audit trail and data backup.

• Instrument care: Perform routine maintenance on the 6890 (septa, liners, gold seals, column trimming and installation, FID jet cleaning, leak checks, gas filter changes); diagnose and log faults.

• Documentation: Maintain instrument logbooks, SOPs, calibration records and retained samples; issue CoAs and test reports on time.

• Safety and compliance: Handle gas cylinders (H₂, N₂/He, air) and flammable solvents safely; follow GLP and ISO 9001-style quality practices.
