Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop Cordaid’s brand visibility and corporate communications materials.
∎ Management & Reporting Lead and work with the Country communications functions to deliver program and project-specific communications needs, including printed materials (flyers, brochures, learning publications, infographics), representation of projects achievements and stories on social media channels, websites, and other communication-related products. Providing editorial support and direction to the program team in developing reports, and articles. Writing and editing concise and attractive updates for website and social media page. Serve as a storyteller and editor for all contents produced by project and country office to ensure quality, clarity, consistency and alignment to Cordaid’s mission and vision
∎ Developing high quality presentation such as power point to present in the higher-level stakeholders such as donors, government, national level events. Oversee the work of the vendors/consultants related to production of communications materials
∎ Developing high quality presentation such as power point to present in the higher-level stakeholders such as donors, government, national level events. Capturing the achievements of the project and disseminating through video documentation, case studies, etc. Ensure all materials including jointly branded ones are compliant with our brand guidelines. Ensuring the design and development of materials, messaging and image required to achieve resource mobilization objectives.
∎ Developing and maintaining a database of key contacts relating to Cordaid’s areas of interest who will regularly receive communications materials. Supporting in conceptualizing and organizing events (e.g. round table discussions, workshops, exhibitions etc.) and communication campaigns to highlight Cordaid’s work and/or create understanding of specific issues. Asist to organize different events at national and regional levels for the visibility and branding of the organization.
∎ Monitoring branding of programs by Country Office staff and partners to ensure donors/potential donors as well as the general public view the organization favourably. Developing and maintaining a database of key contacts relating to Cordaid’s areas of interest who will regularly receive communications materials. Orient the colleagues on the organizational visibility, communication strategy. Build capacity of programme staff to collect stories, photographs, event news through training & mentoring. Oversee the work of the vendors/consultants related to production of communications materials
∎ Innovate and bring new ideas and platforms to enhance team collaboration, internal communication and information exchange and peer-to-peer learning. Build capacity of programme staff to collect stories, photographs, event news through training & mentoring.
∎ Translates communication goals for a specific target group. Drafts the communication plan. Monitors and determines the required resources and budget for the specific sub area. Responsible for realizing, executing and evaluating the communication plan during the year and adjusts where necessary.
∎ Adheres to the Code of Conduct and integrity policies, reports concerns and follows regular integrity trainings.
∎ Working days from Sunday to Thursday with 40 hours per week. This position may require working beyond office hours to attend meetings & other priorities at community level.
∎ As this position is based in Dhaka ,100% of the time will be spent on Projects.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
∎ Follow the different policy of Cordaid such as HR policy, Financial Management Policy, Code of Conduct, Integrity, Sexual harassment policy, etc.
∎ Supervisor: Funding’ Donor Relations & Communication Manager
∎ Cordaid is a leading INGO working for securing sustainable livelihoods, justice and dignity for all in Bangladesh since 1972. Most of the implemented interventions are focusing on Food and Nutrition Security, Climate Smart Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Assistance in the Geographical areas where the people are at risk of vulnerability and poverty specifically northern, southwest part of Bangladesh including Cox’s Bazar.
∎ Cordaid is implementing an EU funded “Sustained Opportunities for Nutrition Governance (SONGO) project” to improve maternal and child nutrition in Kurigram and Gaibandha districts. The SONGO project is 5 years duration with 4 inter-linked outcomes; (1) establishing upazila nutrition governance, (2) improving maternal and child health, nutrition (3) improving WASH practices (4) enhancing availability and access to safe and nutritious food.
∎ Reporting line
∎ The Knowledge & Communications Coordinator reports directly to the Funding’ Donor Relations & Communication Manager. The function holder provides be responsible for coordination with the field team and Country office colleagues to ensure the organizational and projects visibility including capture the learnings & achievements and disseminating these to the other stakeholders.
∎ Purpose of the position
∎ The Knowledge & communications Coordinator will provide support to ensure day to day communications functions run effectively and that her/his functions are strongly built into all programs of Cordaid Bangladesh. More specifically, under the technical guidance of the regional and global office, s/he will support in managing strategic communications (including print, digital, website, and social media) within the Country Office and externally to increase visibility among media, government agencies, development organizations (donors and NGOs), and business communities, thereby contributing to effective resource mobilization.
∎ S/he continuously work on improving quality of products and services by formulating the strategies and program developments.
