Experience & Competencies 

• Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience;

• Direct experience in exporting fresh potatoes, vegetables, fruits or other perishable agricultural products is highly desirable.

• Proven experience in exports to Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia or other GCC countries.

• Established contacts with international buyers, agricultural suppliers, freight forwarders, airlines and C&F agents.

• Practical knowledge of Bangladesh export procedures, EPB, customs, DAE Plant Quarantine Wing and export-related banking procedures.

• Strong negotiation, communication, coordination and leadership skills.

• Proficiency in English and good computer skills. 

  Preferred Candidate Profile

• Personally managed at least 10 international fresh-produce export shipments.

• Existing relationships with overseas agricultural importers.

• Direct connections with reliable potato and vegetable suppliers in Bangladesh.

• Experience in both air and sea shipments.

• The ability to independently manage the complete export operation.

We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven and well-connected professional to lead our international fresh-produce export operations, particularly potatoes and fresh vegetables from Bangladesh.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing overseas buyers, sourcing quality agricultural products, managing export documentation and regulatory compliance, coordinating packaging and logistics, and ensuring timely delivery to international destinations.

1. International Buyer Development

• Develop and maintain relationships with importers, wholesalers, supermarket chains and food-processing companies.

• Identify and secure buyers in Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and other Middle Eastern countries.

• Explore export opportunities in European markets.

• Negotiate prices, payment terms, supply contracts and shipment schedules.

2. Product Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Develop strong relationships with potato growers, agricultural suppliers, cold-storage operators and vegetable wholesalers.

• Source varieties such as Sunshine and Diamond potatoes and other export-quality vegetables.

• Ensure consistent product quality, competitive pricing and timely availability.

• Coordinate procurement according to confirmed export orders.

3. Export Documentation & Regulatory Compliance

• Handle export documentation and procedures involving EPB, customs, banks and other relevant authorities.

• Coordinate phytosanitary certificates through the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).

• Manage Certificates of Origin, EXP Forms, commercial invoices, packing lists and other required documentation.

• Handle export cash incentive applications and related banking procedures, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.

• Ensure compliance with destination-country import regulations, SPS requirements and pesticide MRL standards.

• Understand EU REX, GLOBALG.A.P., HACCP, traceability and relevant European food safety requirements.

4. Packaging Unit Management

• Supervise and manage the company’s central packaging unit at Shyambazar, Dhaka.

• Ensure grading, sorting, washing (where appropriate), packing, labelling and quality control.

• Maintain export packaging standards and shipment readiness.

• Manage packaging materials, labour and inventory. 

5. Air & Sea Freight Management

• Maintain good working relationships with airlines and air cargo agents for fresh vegetable shipments.

• Negotiate competitive air freight rates and secure cargo space.

• Coordinate reefer containers, shipping lines, freight forwarders and Chattogram seaport operations.

• Manage Dhaka airport and Chattogram customs clearance through reliable C&F agents.

• Ensure appropriate temperature management and timely dispatch of perishable products.

6. Shipment & Commercial Management

• Independently coordinate export orders from procurement through final dispatch.

• Monitor shipment costs, profitability and payment collection.

• Resolve shipment delays, quality issues and documentation problems.

• Prepare regular export performance and market-development reports for management.
