Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Engineering (Civil /Water Resources) from any recognized University. B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Environmental Engineering/Water Resources Engineering/Civil Engineering will get preference.
Job Context:
∎ Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan BahadurAhsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer, and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of entire human community. DAM has been contributing for the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and also 8 sectors of development. Health and WASH Sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 9 institutions and 14 donor funded projects.
∎ DAM Health & WASH Sector is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of Project Engineer of Water Aid Bangladesh supported Project titled “Amader Kalaroa Project” covering Satkhira region. It is a Kalaroa based position and Project Engineer which will act as the technical person of all WASH Hardware.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop relevant operational and technical guidelines and modules of WASH interventions.
∎ Identify and support the implementation of demand-based WASH technologies.
∎ Prepare bill of quantity (BoQ), estimation etc. of WASH-related interventions.
∎ Ensure Health & Safety (H&S) policies adhere to during construction and support programmes/projects on this matter.
∎ Monitor progress, process and quality of project interventions and take necessary corrective measures throughout the project cycle to support partners.
∎ Continuous review of progress on implementing WASH interventions through partners against the plan, identify loopholes and provide appropriate feedback & support to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the projects.
∎ Drive, achieve and maintain agreed quality and standards during construction for sustainability.
∎ Suggest context-specific innovations of relevant infrastructures and pilot the interventions according to local demand.
∎ Support in piloting interventions, action research etc. and share best practices to disseminate learning and contribute knowledge management of the organization.
∎ Supervise the construction work, monitoring and quality control, and ensure WASH hardware activities as per provide guidelines with quality.
∎ Provide technical input to upgrade and promote the Arsenic Iron Removal Plant (AIRP), piped water supply, and inclusive sanitation complex at institutions considering local context.
∎ Assist/facilitate appropriate site selection for WASH facilities.
∎ Facilitate staff; community, teachers, and SMC implement technological aspects at field the level.
∎ Develop the skills of caretakers and support to ensure the O&M of the installed WASH facilities.
∎ Regularly monitoring the quality and technological effects of insuring the functions of the hardware facilities.
∎ Coordinate and maintain close relationships with the Upazilla DPHE for suggestions and technical support.
∎ Document technical reports and monitor environmental effects, conduct water quality tests, and manage water quality database.
∎ Ensure mobile-based monitoring and real-time data entry by using mobile/tab.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 04 (four) years demonstrated working experience in engineering field in development sector, preferably in WASH.
∎ Understanding of technical, social, and institutional issues relating to water, sanitation and hygiene education in developing countries.
∎ Capable to design, drawing and estimate Water and Sanitation infrastructures independently.
∎ Experience in preparing project work plan and budget and implementing projects.
∎ Experience of working with municipalities will be considered as added advantages.
∎ Facilitation and strong interpersonal communication skills.
∎ Good writing and presentation skill in English.
∎ Working skill on CAD (AutoCAD 2D/3D or similar) is must.
∎ Able to plan and priorities tasks, competent to solve problem, promote integrity and aptitude to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
∎ Ready to undertake extensive field visits. Motorcycle driving license is mandatory.
∎ Applicants must have COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
∎ Age at most 45 years (Age may be considered for experienced candidate).
Salary:
∎ Tk. 40000 (Monthly)
∎ Other admissible benefits will be provided as per organizational policy and project fund availability.
