Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assisting in implementing and monitoring the Child Safeguarding & PSEAH policies and procedures in the mentioned project.
∎ Conduct training sessions to raise awareness and build capacity among Staff, National Teacher (NT), Rohingya Teacher (RT), stakeholders, beneficiaries & learners (ensure) on Child Safeguarding & PSEAH principles to promote a culture of zero tolerance towards sexual exploitation, harassment and abuse.
∎ Participate in the investigation process related to PSEAH & Child Safeguarding.
∎ Acting as the primary focal of PSEAH and child safeguarding - Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar for this project only.
∎ Ensure immediate Victim support as & when required by keeping the “Victim Centered Approach” in mind.
∎ Prepare regular reports on the status of PSEAH and child safeguarding initiatives, including any incidents or concerns.
∎ Provide regular guidance and support to Staff, National Teacher (NT), Rohingya Teacher (RT), stakeholders, beneficiaries & learners on PSEAH & Child Safeguarding.
∎ Establish monitoring mechanisms to track the implementation of PSEAH and child safeguarding measures.
∎ Represent Friendship in relevant coordination meetings and forums related to PSEAH and child protection in the Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar in consultation with Head Office.
∎ Closely work with the project personnel to ensure the proper implementation of PSEAH & Child Safeguarding matters.
∎ Ensure immediate response on the status of PSEAH and child safeguarding measures.
∎ Establish mechanisms for real-time reporting on the status of PSEAH and child safeguarding initiatives during emergencies.
∎ Ensure that project activities align with organizational policies.
∎ Develop and deliver training materials promoting a culture of zero tolerance towards child safeguarding & sexual exploitation and abuse.
∎ Support & monitor the investigative process for allegations related to sexual exploitation and abuse, adhering to established protocols and ensuring a survivor-centered and confidential approach.
∎ Collaborate with relevant authorities and internal stakeholders during the investigation process.
∎ Submit reports to relevant internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner to the Head Office/Focal Person.
∎ Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of PSEAH & child safeguarding mechanism and propose adjustments if needed.
∎ Participate in meetings with PSEA Network, Camp protection team, different service providers including PSS and other relevant camp related team and maintain liaison with them.
∎ Prepare and implement risk mitigation measures in consultation with Head office.
∎ PSEA & Child Safeguarding Officer will play a focal role in implementing and monitoring the Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) and Child Safeguarding activities of the UNICEF funded Friendship Education projects in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. This role requires a dedicated professional who is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in protecting the well-being of children and vulnerable populations.
