Responsibilities & Context
Job Responsibilities
Sales Auditing: Reconcile daily POS sales, cash receipts, card settlements, and online payment transactions with bank deposits.
Transaction Recording: Record daily sales, cash receipts, and supplier invoices in Tally or other accounting software.
Petty Cash Management: Monitor store petty cash, verify expense receipts, and ensure timely replenishment.
Accounts Payable (AP): Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery records, maintain payment schedules, and ensure timely payments.
Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage customer credit accounts, wholesale transactions, and corporate billing, where applicable.
Inventory Reconciliation: Reconcile physical stock with book inventory and investigate discrepancies affecting the cost of goods sold (COGS).
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and payment gateway settlements with internal accounting records.
Payroll Processing: Calculate salaries, overtime, and commissions, and ensure accurate payroll deductions and compliance with applicable tax regulations.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and budget variance reports.
VAT & Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate VAT calculations, timely submissions, and compliance with applicable VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements in Bangladesh.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing operational budgets, cash flow forecasts, and profitability analyses.
Cost & Variance Analysis: Monitor operating expenses, analyze product profit margins, and identify inventory discrepancies and potential financial irregularities.
Audit Support: Maintain accounting records, supporting documents, and financial reports for internal, external, and statutory audits.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant discipline.
CA (CC), CMA, or other relevant professional qualifications will be considered an advantage.
Experience Requirements
3–5 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance.
Practical experience in VAT and Tax compliance in Bangladesh is mandatory.
Experience in retail businesses or multi-outlet operations will be preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software, particularly Tally.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, and taxation.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
