∎ Bachelors in relevant area such as social sciences, rural development in the context of development with at least 5 years post undergraduate experience with field studies related to social science research,
Job Context:
∎ The posting place: Rangpur, with regional travel anticipated.
∎ The position is for an initial fixed term for one (1) year with a three-month initial probationary period, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. Job Responsibilities:
∎ Specific duties of this position include:
∎ Assist with the implementation of project research activities including, but not limited to implementation of qualitative and quantitative research instruments;
∎ Lead partner engagement with Rupantar partners and relevant stakeholders in the region;
∎ Lead project implementation activities and monitoring of study communities;
∎ Regular reporting and communication with regional team; and
∎ Travel within the Rupantar study locations as per study mandate.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Demonstrated experience in implementing open ended, semi-structured interviews and other qualitative research implements.
∎ Experience working with government stakeholders and rural farming communities.
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla.
∎ A. Interpersonal skills: Contacts (Internal, External) Frequency, Nature and Purpose of Contacts:
∎ Frequent contact with people other than immediate colleagues, but mostly within CIMMYT.
∎ Ability to communicate and relate effectively with others is very important.
∎ Purpose is often to provide or seek services, share information, and secure the cooperation and commitment of individuals or small groups or project teams.
∎ B. English Language:
∎ Read and respond appropriately to correspondence, orally and in writing.
∎ Ability to prepare regularly-used documents and reports without assistance.
∎ C. Information Technology skills needed:
∎ Sufficient competency to use the standard Windows-based software for word-processing, spread sheets, presentations, and email used at CIMMYT with occasional assistance.
∎ Ability to effectively use corporate systems and other specialized applications (user)
∎ Basic skills in Windows Operating System & MS-Office
