Deck Operations

§  Perform the following routine works to ensure compliance with the instruction by Master and Chief Marine Superintendent:

§  Obeying all lawful command.

§  Reporting aboard at agreed times and remaining on board at all times unless relieved by the Master.

§  Performing the duties on deck accordance with safe work practices, policies and procedures.

§  Responding positively to any discipline.

§  Keeping sea watches as lookouts or helmsmen.

§  Assisting with mooring, un-mooring and operations.

§  Handling stores, garbage as directed.

§  Cleaning the accommodation, toilets and mess rooms; and

§  Performing other jobs assigned by Tug Master.

QHSE Compliance

§  Perform the following activities to ensure compliance with SMS:

§  Using appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing; and

§  Maintaining a good standard of cleanliness and general hygiene

§  Familiarize himself with details of emergency station and procedures.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

§  Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Continuous Improvement

§  Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Health & Safety

Maintain an awareness of all health and safety rules applying to the assigned tasks and tools to ensure that safe working practices are observed.

Job Requirements:

• Valid CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate)

• Proof of dedicated training as a Rating forming part of a Navigational Watch

• Navigational Watch endorsement as per STCW Regulation II/4

• Valid Medical Certificate

• Valid STCW Certificate

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an AB Seaman

• Candidates must be physically fit and medically suitable for sea service

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform deck maintenance and general seaman duties.

• Assist in mooring, anchoring, and berthing operations.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the deck area.

• Assist during cargo and ship-handling operations.

• Carry out duties as assigned by the deck officers.

• Follow all maritime safety procedures and regulations.
