Job Context
Ocean Shipping Lines Ltd is looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead business development activities for Special Equipment cargo including OOG, Open Top, Flat Rack, ISO Tank, and Reefer shipments. The candidate will be responsible for driving both inbound and outbound cargo business, developing new customer relationships, and expanding the company's market presence in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and secure new business for Special Equipment cargo (OOG, OT, FR, ISO Tank & Reefer).
Promote both Import and Export freight solutions across global trade lanes.
Generate sales leads and convert them into long-term business opportunities.
Maintain strong relationships with shippers, manufacturers, project cargo clients, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, and logistics partners.
Prepare freight quotations, negotiate rates, and close business deals.
Coordinate with overseas agents, principals, carriers, and internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Identify project cargo opportunities and specialized transportation requirements.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by management.
Submit sales reports and business development plans on a regular basis.
Educational Requirements
Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or related discipline.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 7 years of experience in Shipping Lines, NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Supply Chain industry.
Proven experience in handling and marketing OOG, Open Top, Flat Rack, ISO Tank, and Reefer cargo is mandatory.
Strong network among exporters, importers, project cargo customers, and logistics stakeholders will be an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
Age 30-45 years preferred.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong commercial awareness and market knowledge.
Ability to work independently and achieve challenging sales targets.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Excellent presentation and customer relationship management skills.
