Job Context:
∎ Resource Integration Centre (RIC) is a national NGO since 1981 in Bangladesh. RIC is going to implement a project “Fresh Food Corners/Market Linkage” supported by World Food Programme (WFP). The project’s implementation areas are Ramu and Ukhiya Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district. RIC is seeking application from the potential candidate for the below mentioned position:
∎ Position: Project Assistant-Technical (1)
∎ PROJECT: Fresh Food Corners/Market Linkage, WFP
∎ Location: Ramu and Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar.
∎ Grade/Scale: V/16
∎ Post type: Initial Contract (April’ 2022 – September’ 2022) expected to be renewed till December’ 2022
∎ Appointment: Immediate
∎ SCOPE OF ROLE:
∎ • Staff reportable to: Project Manager
∎ • Staff maintain liaison with: Field Coordinator, Project Assistant-Technical, MEO, AAAO, Field Officer, Field Assistant and WFP Officials
∎ • Staff based at Ramu, Cox’s Bazar.
∎ • Working Hours & Location: Eight hours and will work 6 days a week
Job Responsibilities:
∎ OVERALL, ROLE OF THIS POSITION:
∎ Contribute to effective project implementation;
∎ Capacity building of Field Officers and Field Assistants;
∎ Ensure services from different stakeholder and Govt. Offices and networking with market actor;
∎ Understand and analyses farm productivity, crop diversification appropriate for the farmers' groups and business models to enhance farmers' access to the market;
∎ Organize business linkage meetings and trainings for farmers, local service providers, market actors and relevant private sector representatives at union and sub-district levels.
∎ Provide technical leadership on agriculture value chain and livelihood interventions.
∎ Conduct regular field visit and spend significant period of time with the farmers, stakeholders and market actors in strengthening linkages among them;
∎ Provide technical assistance to the producers in organizing promotional events and demonstrations of their farm produces;
∎ Play key role in increasing farmers' groups' access to the higher market in maximizing the profit with their potential commodities/crops also strong leadership to building linkages with FFC retailers
∎ Keep close collaboration with senior staff, other unit, other NGO, SM, CiC. As per needs.
∎ Provide technical expertise and manage staff working in areas such as agribusiness, enhanced agricultural production, post-harvest handling, storage and processing, improved market linkages etc.
∎ Ensure to the producers for value chain activities in agriculture sub sectors.
∎ KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTIBILITIES:
∎ A. The Project Assistant-Technical will be responsible for effective project implementation.
∎ B. Provide technical leadership on agriculture value chain and livelihood interventions;
∎ C. Assist to prepare of reports (monthly, quarterly and yearly) maintenance, expenditure and work plan.
∎ D. Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ WORKING EXPERIENCES:
∎ At least 5-7 years working experience in INGO/NNGO.
∎ At least 3 years’ experience in value chain of livelihood and food security program.
∎ Experience with WFP Project Management is an advantage.
∎ JOB RELATED KONWLEDGE:
∎ Sound technical Knowledge on agribusiness, enhanced agricultural production, post-harvest handling, storage and processing, improved market linkages etc.
∎ NECESSARY SKILLS:
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and multi-cultural environments.
∎ Good report writing in English.
∎ Fluency in Bengali and English is required. A Chittagong local language is preferable.
∎ Computer software skill (MS-Word, Excel and Access, SPSS, etc.). Experienced on computer application.
∎ Excellent E-mail communication both with donors and partners.
∎ Habituated to extensive field work
∎ Need reporting skills and mail communication to WFP
Salary: Tk. 80000 (Monthly)
