Job Context:
∎ Project Description:
∎ United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)-funded Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Project (BTF) works to expand regional and international trade in agricultural goods by addressing systemic constraints to agricultural trade at Bangladeshi ports; simplifying and automating import and export processes; improving the capacity of government agencies, laboratories, and warehouses; and by fostering private and public investment, especially in cold storage.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Deep understanding of agro trading process and basic knowledge of the implementation status of the WTO-TFA measures in Bangladesh;
∎ Prior work experience preferred that required interacting and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior public and private sector officials, think tanks, and academia;
∎ Ability to gather and organize information and resources, compile data and prepare statistics, and synthesize knowledge from diverse sources;
∎ Demonstrated understanding of GoB systems and private sector membership organizations;
∎ Experience in, or exposure to, relevant donor-funded development programs is desirable; Understanding or interest in international trade, law, and related processes is advantageous;
∎ Fluent in English and Bangla languages and demonstrated written, oral communication, and presentation skills and capabilities;
∎ Advanced Bangla writing skills (not just typing) will be a strong advantage;
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity (e.g., Word, Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint), database, and process mapping software is advantageous;
∎ Ability to work sensitively in multicultural environments;
∎ Demonstrated proven competency in time management and multitasking.
Salary:
∎ Competitive (a minimum of BDT 1,20,000 Monthly)
