Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's degree (preferably a Ph.D) or equivalent academic qualifications in any one of the subjects in social science, community development, water resource management, environmental sciences, public health, or disaster risk reduction.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 10 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Map out and select 8 to 10 successful case stories of community organization in IWRM project (to be documented) ensuring multiple learning domains
∎ Broad learning questions relevant to equitable water resource governance, IWRM and implementation and rolling out of BWR.
∎ Write high quality stories on each of the selected cases in Bangla/English, based on a standard template, focusing the success/change made by the WRMC or WRMA
∎ Document the success was achieved/history of achieving the success overcoming challenges, factors contributed and key lessons of the story; and
∎ Distil and summarize lessons and learnings per broad learning question through the analysis of documented case stories.
∎ Document stories of disadvantaged citizens to access to reliable and safe drinking water services.
∎ Enhancing women’s leadership and participation in IWRM decision making.
∎ Apply community led planning, monitoring and management of both drinking and irrigation schemes, focusing effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.
∎ How they are initiating self-help practices in application of 4R principles of IWRM at households.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Shall have experience of facilitating community organizations in water management, WASH, rural development and local governance, disaster risk reduction with experience in Bangladesh and understanding of Barind region.
∎ Aware about relevant acts, rules, policies of the government of Bangladesh and local government supportive to equitable water resource governance, IWRM as well as organizations and actors involved; especially in the context of Barind area.
∎ Aware about the demographic situation of disadvantaged ethnic citizens in Barind areas and special issues facing them for their wellbeing and development.
∎ Experience and skill in designing and needs assent for development projects involving participatory methodology; and
∎ Familiarity and skill in application of narrative approach of documenting stories of change in complex project context such as outcome harvesting, participatory rural appraisal, and community identified substantial changes, appreciative inquiry and write-shop; and
∎ Provided similar and relevant specialization to national and international development organizations.
