∎ JOB PURPOSE: Supporting the adoption of new technologies in programme`s work, which will make them more effective for service delivery. This role will help develop use-cases of new technologies that can be used to better deliver on our mission at BRAC, in consultation with programmes and external organizations.
∎ To proactively scan the horizon in technology for development domain, exploring possibilities and potentials by harnessing the power of technology in order to promote technological innovation to ensure improvement of service delivery model in BRAC core programmes. Lead and explore BRAC Technology T4D partnership development with external Tech companies and development agencies and other BRAC programmes in order to bring new ideas, technologies in digitization, cloud transformation and initiating Managed Services to improve effectiveness and efficiency in BRAC`s programmatic operations.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support designing, prototyping, testing, and fabrication of selected products, and apply quality assurance/ quality control plans to ensure highest possible quality.
∎ Identify, understand, and articulate innovative and novel technology trends that can be applied for the beneficiaries especially in the humanitarian interventions - and represent these ideas during ideation, solution design, and project development.
∎ Ensure consistent scanning of new ideas, resources, and technologies that are relevant to BRAC, and proactively sharing them internally; also evaluating these to assist other programmes in making decisions.
∎ Lead/Perform research different areas/demographics to identify the need of emerging new technology capabilities (Agtech, AI, blockchain etc.) for making people's lives better and scan for potential partners.
∎ Lead the Designing of early prototype and work on impact analysis of tech pilots.
∎ Generate grants and resources for Social Innovation Lab's work; from grant writing to donor relationship; managing relationships with donors and potential donors.
∎ Partner with donors, researchers, partners, government and programmes to assess how emerging technology can be used to address the needs of the mass, enterprises and other stakeholders.
∎ Develop high-level business and technical architecture requirements of proposed solutions; capture business specifications and requirements from clients and/or programmes Work with IT integration team for implementation of technology in prototype or pilots.
∎ Providing guidance and leading the R&D exploration on data driven decision making for technology specific initiatives from SIL.
∎ Lead the development of innovation proposal to introduce new technologies i.e., IoT, AI, blockchain, Cloud computing etc and Proof of Concepts of new innovative digital services by partnering with external tech companies, start-ups and institutions.
∎ Lead and design Tech events arranged by SIL in order to engage tech entrepreneurs and youths in resolving development challenges for promoting and adopting innovative & emerging technology solution.
∎ Provide support in piloting only the most cutting-edge technologies to eradicate the pressing development challenges.
∎ Provide strategic leadership and guidance on Technology for development product interest generation and playing key role in designing Digital transformation strategy for BRAC programmes.
∎ Work on Cost effective pilot design and planning of scale of tech pilots.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Sound knowledge on Information technology global trends and practices.
∎ Knowledge on software design, software development life cycle.
∎ Clear understanding in emerging technologies e.g. blockchain, IOT, cloud technology, AI, data analysis etc.
∎ Demonstrate R&D background on technology solution designing and understanding
∎ Knowledge on system engineering concepts and basics of emerging new technology platforms and capabilities.
∎ Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis; business case development
∎ Minimum 3 years' of working experience. Experience in designing large scale technological solutions, Tech pilots from concept to scale, Digital transformation strategy will be an added advantages.
