Skill Fitter (Assembly & Fitting)

• Minimum Class Eight (Class 8) pass.

• Relevant technical training or vocational certification will be an advantage.

• Previous experience in structural steel fitting, steel fabrication, or steel building manufacturing is preferred.

• Practical knowledge of steel component assembly, alignment, marking, and measurement is required.

• Experience in reading and understanding fabrication drawings will be an advantage.

• Strong practical fitting and assembly skills.

• Ability to use measuring tools and fitting equipment.

• Good understanding of structural steel fabrication processes.

Job Context:

The selected candidates will be responsible for fitting, alignment, assembly, and positioning of structural steel components according to engineering drawings, fabrication specifications, and production requirements.

Job Description / Responsibility:

• Perform fitting and assembly of structural steel components, including beams, columns, plates, and other fabricated parts.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and measurements.

• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, marking, and positioning of steel components before welding or final assembly.

• Check dimensions and fitting accuracy according to technical specifications.

• Use fitting tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.

• Coordinate with welders, fabricators, supervisors, and production teams.

• Identify fitting defects and take corrective action as required.

• Guide junior fitters and helpers when necessary.

• Maintain quality standards and follow workplace health and safety procedures.

• Complete assigned work within production schedules.
