Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Initiative to Enhance Nutrition Security and Governance (BIeNGS) is funded by European Union. Project duration 5 years from 1 August 2018 up to 28 Feb 2023.
∎ The overall objective is to improve maternal and child nutrition in six sub-districts of in rural and nutritionally vulnerable areas of Jamalpur and Sherpur districts of Bangladesh by promoting multi-sector pro-poor governance models and nutrition interventions.
∎ Project Locations: Jamalpur & Sherpur
∎ This position is responsible for providing technical support in nutrition-sensitive crop production, consumption and market link up and also link up with extension services. This position will also provide advisory support to partners and the World Vision project team in implementing nutrition-sensitive agriculture, establish an early warning system for crop production, capacity building for producer group members; and bridge in-between market outlets and chambers. H/She will engage private sectors (inputs suppliers and market actors) to support smallholders for their easier access to them and build partnerships in between producer groups and market actors.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Facilitate/co-facilitate the (re)designs of nutrition-sensitive agriculture development (NSA ) components.
∎ Provide technical guidance and backstopping to the implementation of nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
∎ Provide a technically innovative program that will attract interest from research institutions, commercial buyers and other donors.
∎ Enable the team to work together so that agriculture, nutrition and marketing programs are integrated and provide synergy.
∎ Enhance the capacity of project staff to mainstream nutrition-sensitive agriculture, promote inter-sectoral integration and liaise with stakeholders.
∎ Establish strong networking and coordination amongst the public, private and market systems at the district and sub-district level.

∎ Documentation and Reporting.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Strong understanding of current developments, research and trends in the fields of agriculture, food security, economic development, resilient and livelihoods.
∎ Able to articulate the details of nutrition sensitive agriculture in the context of value chain development programming.
∎ Strong field experience.
∎ Knowledge of agriculture, food security, economic development, resilient and livelihoods, poverty dynamics, poverty reduction issues and practices.
∎ Skills to develop capacity building tools and knowledge on enterprise and entrepreneurship development.
∎ Knowledge on programming resources and tools for agriculture, food security, economic development, resilience and livelihoods.
∎ Excellent writing and verbal communication skills both in Bengali and English.
∎ Standard proficiency in computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, emailing, internet operation, etc).
∎ At least 5 years work experience in the fields of agriculture, food security, economic development, resilience and livelihoods or in the relevant fields.
∎ Proven experience in implementing, facilitating and contributing to economic activities in the field.
∎ Proven experience as a team player.
∎ Proven experience managing people with appropriate people skills.
∎ Project office based work.
∎ Need-based field visit – 50% of time visit to field locations (Projects site).
∎ Pro-multi ethnic/multicultural/multi-religious.
