Responsibilities & Context
What you'll do
• Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in C# and ASP.NET Core for core recordkeeping modules.
• Model complex financial data in PostgreSQL using Entity Framework Core, including schema design, migrations and query tuning.
• Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests, and take part in code reviews.
• Integrate services with AWS components including API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, S3, RDS and Secrets Manager.
• Containerise services with Docker and help ship them through CI/CD pipelines on GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Build file-based integrations that are reliable, idempotent and auditable.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for the services you own.
Requirements
• 3–5 years of hands-on backend development, with at least 2 years in C# and .NET 8.
• Strong experience building REST APIs with ASP.NET Core, including authentication, validation, error handling and versioning.
• Solid working knowledge of Entity Framework Core: relationships, migrations, LINQ and avoiding common performance traps such as N+1 queries.
• Good SQL skills with PostgreSQL or another relational database: indexing, transactions and reading query plans.
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, dependency injection and common design patterns.
• Practical experience with at least a few AWS services (for example, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway or ECS).
• Must have working knowledge of AI coding agents.
