Job Context:
∎ CIMMYT is looking for and internationally recruited Hub Coordinator/ Manager to join our CSISA MI project for agriculture mechanization and light engineering development in Southern Bangladesh.
∎ The primary purpose of this job is to boost the competitiveness and efficiency of domestic and private sector. Work closely with the Project Leader, Project Manager, Industrial Engineer, Mechanization Scientists and other technical experts to achieve project targets and aims.
∎ The position is based at CIMMYT`s campus in Bogra, Bangladesh.
∎ The position is for Bangladesh Nationals for an initial fixed-term contract of 3 years, with a three-month initial probationary period, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work closely with the Project Leader, Project Manager, Industrial Engineer, Mechanization Scientists and other technical experts to achieve project targets and aims. Cooperate and work closely with embedded iDE staff in project implementation.
∎ Oversee implementation and ensure quality of work is aligned with CIMMYT SOP, polices and conducted as directed by CSISA MI's leadership team.
∎ Work with senior staff to facilitate fine-tuning of key technologies through adaptive processes: including machinery, manufacturing and survey research in collaboration with MSMEs, GOB and other agricultural mechanisation service providers, and the public and private sector.
∎ Coordinate participatory activities, exchanges and demonstrations in manufacturing facilities, fairs and displays and other regional events.
∎ Assist and take the lead in the design and implementation of capacity building strategies with an emphasis on localizing training content and developing decision support tools for different stakeholder groups.
∎ Supervise and coordinate the activities of field staff, including trainers, Agricultural Machinery Development Officers and Agricultural Development Officers and embedded iDE staff.
∎ Working with iDE coordinate project specialist activities, in close partnership with the private sector, financial institutions using innovative business models and financial structures according to consultants' guidance.
∎ Interact in meetings with various stakeholders, partners, consultants and US companies and organisations.
∎ Coordinate and cooperate with project partners (iDE, BADC, BARI, BARC, DAE, and other ministries), with a particular emphasis on the light engineering and manufacturing private sector, to discuss, streamline, and implement intervention packages.
∎ Support the work of the project's monitoring and evaluation team.
∎ Coordinate the visits and participation of Dhaka-based project staff and national and international visitors.
∎ Manage Field Office level budget and expenditures based on CIMMYT's standard operating procedures.
∎ With the support of field office and Dhaka staff ensure the maintenance and archiving of data records, enter data into electronic databases, and maintain proper data archiving and back-up systems.
∎ Any other assignment as instructed by your supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of professional development, research and extension experience.
∎ Demonstrated leadership experience in field and office personnel management
∎ Strong ability to manage and supervise embedded staff from other organizations with very diverse backgrounds
∎ Ability to identify and provide solutions to constraints in agricultural machinery manufacturing or related activities.
∎ Demonstrated experience in industrial and environment development issues and/or conservation agriculture is desirable.
∎ Demonstrated experience in the implementation and management of participatory adaptive activities, preferably in private sector setting, with particular emphasis on, agricultural machinery manufacturing, machine management in cropping systems, and/or environmental management in Bangladesh.
∎ Demonstrated experience in project management and leadership, especially management of donor funded projects in agriculture and light engineering would be desirable.
∎ Prior experience in working with the private sector, or developing public-private partnerships is highly desirable
∎ Excellent communication skills and considerable experience in training professionals and private sector partners.
∎ Expertise in value chain and market development and capacity building is highly desirable.
∎ Competence with common computer software packages for communications, (Word, Power Point), data management (excel), and statistical analysis (SPSS, etc...) and industrial engineering processes.
∎ Proven English language skills (IELTS results preferred, with a minimum score of 7 across all bands is preferable)
∎ Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural contexts.
∎ Ability to work under significant pressure in very diverse fields of operation.

∎ Advanced skills in Windows Operating System, LAN, and Internet
