∎ IFDC is recognized by the Government of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh as an International Organization. IFDC established its Asia Divisional Office in Dhaka Bangladesh and enjoying diplomatic status under the same Government declaration.
∎ IFDC is recruiting for the above project in Bangladesh.
∎ The Feed the Future Bangladesh Climate Smart Agriculture Activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will work in 21 Feed the Future Zone of Influence (ZOI) Districts targeting 900,000 farmers and 2,485 private sector enterprises including 10-20 big companies. The Activity`s purpose is to: facilitate farmers, firms, and public sector actors to increase the sustainable productivity and diversity of smallholder farmers through a more resilient and inclusive food and agriculture production system in Bangladesh. The goal is to sustainably improve food security and the nutritional status of the rural population, decrease the incidence and severity of poverty among the rural poor, and better adapt agriculture systems to meet the threats and challenges linked to climate change-related events, thus transforming farming systems through climate-smart agriculture (CSA). Mainstreaming women and inclusive development presents a significant opportunity. Meaningful participation of women is essential to purpose and goal achievement.
∎ The Activity will result in marked improvements in smallholder farmers` access to and use of high-quality CSA technologies and practices as well as CSA inputs, to improve the productivity of target crops such as rice, pulses, legumes, and vegetable, and other suitable crops. More than 200 model CSA villages will be developed in the ZOI districts with a village farm area group seeking advice on how to set up and operate an agriculture cooperative to serve area farmers with CSA input supply and sale of harvested crops by linking farmer-members to buyers. These 200 villages will be advertised as model villages and gradually spread all over the country. Farmers` incomes will increase, bolstering food and nutrition security.
∎ The three intermediate results (IR) of the Activity are:
∎ IR 1: Increased availability of climate-resilient varieties of target crops through seed system strengthening.
∎ IR 2: Enhanced market delivery of climate-adapted innovations of agro-inputs, including seeds, practices, and climate information services.
∎ IR 3: Increased smallholder farmer application of climate-smart agriculture technologies and practices.
∎ IFDC is seeking to recruit a qualified individual to fill the position of Accounts Assistant for the above project, to be based in Barisal field Office.
∎ The accounts Assistant will report to the Accounts Officer (AO) /Senior Finance and Accounts Officer (SFAO) and provide overall support to the Accounts department. He/she will be based in the IFDC Barisal Field Office.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Maintain books of accounts and manages all matters relating to the Petty Cash of the Activity.
∎ Prepare necessary financial reports and statements of the projects as and when necessary and submit them to the Accounts AO/SFAO.
∎ Review and process all the vouchers and related supporting documents of all the operational and program activities as well as personal claims and dues of all the staff of the projects.
∎ Check all the training vouchers with relevant documents submitted by the field staff and spot-check of training beneficiaries and vendors as and when needed or applicable.
∎ Send the checking vouchers immediately or on a regular basis to the Accounts Officer, Dhaka as per organization rules of accounts.
∎ Report immediately on any weaknesses or irregularities of any kind that comes out while checking in writings with documentary evidence via email or courier to the AO or SFAO with a copy to the Chief of Party for taking administrative measures.
∎ Update all activities relating to checking vouchers daily.
∎ Review and process requests for travel and activity advances and accurately reconcile advances upon completion of travel or activities.
∎ Prepare day-to-day covering vouchers using proper accounts code and line items and class code narrating appropriate descriptions, numbering them chronologically for adjustment or reimbursement upon receipt of the vouchers of all kinds project-wise.
∎ Enter all the vouchers project-wise in the accounting system NetSuite and get ensured all the entries are taken in and correct.
∎ Make a scan of all the vouchers and supporting documents for uploading in the IFDC share folder.
∎ Maintain the filing system of all financial reports, field wire requests, bank reconciliations; field accounts review certifications, and other financial documentation.
∎ Perform needed other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ The Accounts Assistant is supervised by and reports to the Accounts Officer/Senior Finance and Accounts Officer. He/She works in close collaboration with the Field Staff and other Project colleagues. The Accounts Assistant will have no direct supervisory responsibility.
∎ This is a national position with duty in IFDC Barisal Field Office.
∎ The position may require travel to target ZOI in Bangladesh.
∎ Ability to work independently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

∎ Must be highly skilled in the use of Excel Spreadsheets as well as other accounting software.
∎ Fluency in written and spoken English, with a good working knowledge of the second language.
∎ Good planning skills, honesty, and reliability.
∎ Ability to work alone and in a team and meet strict deadlines.
∎ People management skills
